JAY-Z re-opened famed New York City music venue Webster Hall in a special way on Friday night (Apr. 26). The music mogul brought his ‘B-Sides 2’ show to the popular Manhattan location, performing a two-hour set of deep album cuts. Along with bringing out guests Nas, Cam’ron, and Jim Jones, the face of Roc Nation took time to debut two new freestyles. Dubbed by fans the ‘B-Sides 2’ freestyles, the first verse captured concert goers ears as Hov touched on the late Nipsey Hussle, gentrification, and urging minorities to invest in their own communities.

Gentrify your own hood before these people do it/ Claim eminent domain and have your people move in. That’s a small glimpse into what Nipsey was doing/ For anybody still confused as to what he was doing,” Jay raps. “I be going to sleep hoping that Nip would visit me/ That young King had a lot of jewels to split with me. And we ain’t got to leave the hood physically/ But we got to leave that shit mentally.”
