Jay-Z and Eminem perform “Renegade” atop NYC’s Ed Sullivan Theater rooftop

Jay-Z prevailed over Mayor Bloomberg’s earlier decision to cancel his outdoor performance atop the Ed Sullivan theater marquee for his David Letterman appearance this Friday, by moving it from the marquee to the more private rooftop, thus avoiding a Drake-crush…At Tuesdays rehearsal, Jay and Eminem ran through “Renegade” for the small audience. Its the Real tweeted this above photo, and RR and another attendee caught video footage. (EDIT: According to Nation, the rehearsal and actual taping both took place on Monday. The performance will be aired during Friday’s “Late Show”)
Watch Jay-Z and Eminem perform “Renegade,” Jay perform “On to the Next One,” and Lisa Evers/FoxNews talk to Diddy and Hov…
after the jump…
My Hot97 coworker Lisa Evers reported from the rehearsal and explained how Jay-Z got around the original ban on the outdoor show…

Diddy was also at the show “as a fan,” and talked to Lisa Evers.

For the fun of music, these two should make an LP. Prolly be the highest grossing rap lp of all time… Just a thought. Then step off into the sunset; they could probably tour for the rest of their careers off that.

Nas,Eminem, Kanye and JayZ should do an album together. Get the hottest producers and call it The Take Over. That would bring back real hip hop. Can you imagin how much inspiration would occur in those studio sessions.

Wow jay z’s performance was bad, too much beat. could not even understand what he was saying. Even the atmosphere on the roof top looked so child-like, he should have just schduled to go on Letterman
