The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival is celebrating its 10th birthday this year, so you know they had to go all out. Last night it was announced that Jay Electronica and Raekwon will be headlining this year’s event, which takes place from July 9 to 14 (with Jay and Rae performing on the 12th). The lineup also features Joey Bada$$, CJ Fly and the rest of Pro Era.

I know what you’re thinking: how the hell did they manage to lock down Jay Electronica for a headlining slot? Well, it wasn’t that difficult, according to Brooklyn Bodega Executive Director Wes Jackson. In fact, he says Jay refused to be part of the festival if he was the listed as the headliner over Raekwon, preferring to perform before the Wu-Tang MC as a sign of respect.
