If anyone has the right to play Drake’s “We Made It” at ignorant levels, it’s these guys. According to Forbes, WhatsApp cofounders Jan Koum and Brian Acton have sold their respective stakes in the company to Facebook for a tidy sum of $19 billion (NINETEEN BILLION DOLLARS).
The victory is sure to taste even sweeter for Koum who posted a picture of him signing the paperwork for the historic deal on the door of his old welfare office in Mountain View, California! What’s more, Acton and Koum, who emigrated to the States from Ukraine when he was just 16, were both rejected for jobs at Facebook before starting WhatsApp.
You can read Jan Koum’s truly inspiring rags-to-riches story over on Forbes and regain your faith that hard work really does pay off.
