Ja Rule Say's Fyre Festival Was False Advertising, Not Fraud
 

Things are continuing to go a awry in Ja Rule’s Fyre Festival debacle. According to the NY Times, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a criminal investigation into the failed event and it’s proceedings. The handful of charges the Queen native and Fyre-co founder Billy McFarland have received include “possible” mail, wire, and securities fraud.

The amazing event was not a scam. I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT. But I’m taking responsibility. I’m deeply sorry to everyone who was inconvenienced by this. It wasn’t fraud. False advertising, maybe—not fraud. – Ja Rule

Among those who to got the short end of the stick along with hopeful Spring-breaker’s were festival employees awaiting payment, a restaurant owner who catered meals and scheduled headliner Blink 182 – who currently have their gear stuck in customs limbo.
