J. Cole Speaks on Twitter Hiatus, Second LP & Collab Album with Kendrick Lamar
Posted by Mr.North under Interviews[3] Comments
While in Las Vegas on Friday night in support of Drake’s “Club Paradise” tour, J. Cole stopped by Hot 97.5 to catch up with Bootleg Kev. The two discuss his experience being on the road again with Drake, being snubbed from MTV’s Hottest MC’s List, and how leaks forced him to release his Friday Night Lights mixtape. J. Cole also touches on why he’s currently on a Twitter hiatus and held back releasing new music, recording his sophomore album, and working with Kendrick Lamar on an album he says five records have been finished already.
You can catch J. Cole next month at Hot 97 Summer Jam 2012 on June 3.

J Cole and Kendrick album should be interesting. Two more than capable lyricist, i just hope it isnt a washed down label version. Maybe it will humble the fans that were dissapointed in Cole world. He’s taking too long to drop his Sophmore album trying to recoup off his first; Kendrick mixtape were lighter fluid. look forward to that project.

It did well by today’s standards,250k i think. I loved most cole mixtapes his album not so much(didn’t pour his soul into like his tapes) i don’t think it was a years worth to tour with, which is why most his show are mixtape material outside the album singles. That is an indication to get catalog up. Like I said I think the reason hes still touring is for his own pockets(i dont blame him that’s where the money is) label prob recoup by now, but you risk cooling off period.
