Mikey: No Memphis Bleek, Young Chris, or Freeway, but Roc Nation’s new comer, J. Cole, managed to rap his way on to Jay-Z’s BP3. The Fayetteville, NC native is the next emcee to try his hand at carrying the Roc-a-fella torch. Last night, inside NYU’s Kimmel Center, J. Cole effortlessly kept the diamonds air as he had the under 30 crowd mouthing every word to his mixtape cuts. Shouts to the homie Griff for lookin’ out.

Man, I haven’t wanted a rapper to achieve success as much as I want him to. If he doesn’t hit it big, it won’t be his fault, it will be the mainstream’s. Then it will be official, real hip hop is dead.

J. Cole got hot lyrics. I hope me blow up & all. But Ima need him to get some more personality. He seems stiff to me. Maybe I need to watch some more interviews. But the ones i have seem, I didnt feel his good vibes either. He seem mean or something. Lol. Yall would know it, if he had yall open like on some Drake shit. Or like Big Sean’s or Cudi fans. Ima see, Im sure he’ll prove my wrong. If he want my respect & money, then he’s got some work to do. Or maybe time will be on his side for me to grow on him. At this moment, I feel he would give a damn if I liked him or not. And thats what I dont like, like he’s in it for himself & not to make god music for hip hop history & others to enjoy. Yall it hot, & others enjoy it. But its like its hot-for him. So he can do-him. Holla.
