I don’t see the hype in this dude. He’s just like drake, good rapper but his hype don’t add up to his OVERALL skill. I wouldn’t be hyped to buy an album from this dude or drake. I guess it’s cause of the jay-z plug. Drake had the wayne plug sooo……..
cory gunz and currency catch my attention more than those two.

I’ve heard a lot of his music and it don’t move me. He one of those rappers that can spit the tightest shit but you forget it the next day. All the hype he getting is not matching his skill level. Dudes like cory gunz and currency shit all over this dude. they just don’t have a jay-z plug.
That warm up mixtape was good but it’s getting waaay too much credit. I can name about 10 mixtapes that came out around that time that’s 5 times better. I think Charles Hamilton is better than him. But he don’t have a jay-z plug so naturally yall sheep not gonna believe that even if it’s true.
Like I said, dude is good just like drake is. But he missing something, I just can’t figure it out. It’s kinda like when Joe budden first came out. He was spitting but he just didn’t do it for me. Now it seems like he found his path or some shit lol. I can fuck wit him now.

Well man that’s your opinion on who u think is better, but a lot of dudes mess wit J.Cole’s music and its not cuz he has a “jay-z plug” …i mean damn u might as well say currency has a “dame plug” and cory basically has a “wayne plug” now so dudes can easily say youre a sheep for liking cory gunz even if dat isnt your reason…so daz your opinion on whether u think he got it or not but u cant say dudes are overhypin him cuz he has a “jay-z plug” cuz a lot of dudes including me jus really feel he is dat nice

one of my boys also suggested kanye, who apparently isnt giving him any beats?
“we raced to climb the flagpole just to find out that our idols is some assholes”
not to mention all the flagrant shots on that “We On” khaled track, which is prob why it didnt make the album… its to early for him to be talkin wreckless like this!

If he is talking about Nas…SMDH because he sure was in an interview recently talking very highly about Nas. Damn near every interview he does!

j. cole’s WARM UP mixtape is just nastyyy from beginning to end hence him being signed… However, this freestyle definitely doesn’t live up to his overall writing skills. i just can’t hate on this so called hype, its always gonna be hated on, mad props to his hard work.

A lot of ppl haven’t heard a (not one) J.Cole song… they’re not doing a good enough job hitting ppl over their heads with some undeniable type joint that gives you no choice to listen. Like I look at these posts and still to me he’s a regular dude whose video that I’m not really trynna click on. I think we can attribute that somewhat to Jay (and/or his promotion team) sucking at promoting his artists as we all know from his stint as prezzy at Def Jam. I mean, I think he needs to take it beyond an introductory level of the artist to fully supporting including lots of features, etc like Lil Wayne did for Drake. That’s the difference to me.

I wanna know what Jay-Z is doing with this guy…I mean really… besides the feature on BP3, what else, because like you said, he’s not being fully supported by his label.

This kids music is a problem! But i really wouldve liked to see him rip it nasty on the flex show. You guys remember when a young Budden, Fab, Lloyd Banks first blessed the station with a freestyle on flex!!! That shit made all the dudes want to start rapping!!

I can’t believe you guys are questioning the team behind this guy…Let’s see, this dude has been on BBC 1xtra, Flex, Jenny Boom Boom, countless other radio stations, BET, MTV, in Spin Magazine, the New York Times, Complex, Billboard, on the cover of the Source, XXL, URB, on Tour with Jay-Z on a Jay-Z album and y’all really acting as if he isn’t getting support. Not to mention his FIRST single only came out last week!
Do you reeaally think all this happened without behind the scenes moves by managers and his label? I mean dude is talented but he is not getting these types o looks without his team.
If y’all can really do better how about you start up a label or become a manager or something…

J cole is nice and drake is overrated. I won’t even say drake sucks anymore but a majority of his fans are under 17 and like his music cause the production be solid and his rhymes are so basic and easy to understand and not overly ignorant like some other shit out there that people just embrace it and love you due to the already weak state of hiphop.
