J. Cole’s “Jermaine’s Interlude,” a standout off DJ Khaled’s latest album Major Key, has an interesting story behind it. The record originally belonged to Spillage Village, an Atlanta collective with ties to Dreamville, having collaborated on records and toured on the road together. Spillage Village, a trio of consisting of JB, EarthGang, and J.I.D., recorded the song “Can’t Call It” that featured Bas. J. Cole caught wind of the record and decided to jump on the posse cut.

Eventually, Cole’s solo part ended up on DJ Khaled’s No. 1 album that released in late July. Now four months later, Spillage Village drops the full six-minute original version of “Can’t Call It” which appears on their Bears Like This To Much LP due December 2.
