J. Cole’s inaugural Dreamville Festival was set to take place last weekend on September 15. Sadly, due to Hurricane Florence impacting the Carolinas, the event had to be cancelled. A week after delivering the bad news, a new rescheduled date has been announced.
Continue after the jump….
The Dreamville Festival will now take place on April 6, 2019. A new lineup will be revealed at a late date. J. Cole, Big Sean, SZA, Young Thug, Nelly, Rapsody, Teyana Taylor and Dreamville Records were some of the artists set to perform during the original date.
“We battled with the idea of moving forward with the festival at this time or formally cancelling the event. But after receiving unwavering support from the fans and the community, we are excited to announce Dreamville Festival will now take place on April 6, 2019,” said Ibrahim Hamad, Cole’s manager and president of Dreamville Records. Fans who purchased tickets for the original date will have the option to keep their existing tickets which will be honored for the new date, or to request a full refund by October 5, 2018.
In the meantime, Cole’s Dreamville Foundation has set up a campaign to help with relief efforts supporting the communities affected by Hurricane Florence. The Foundation will assist in providing hot food stations, temporary housing options for families and help with the stocking of food pantries and shelters throughout the city of Fayetteville and surrounding areas.
