Interview: Drake ponders staying-label-free with the On-Air Idiots

Thanks to K-dubasis Runnindis and the On-air Idiots of 93.7 of New Haven CT. He sat down with Drake before his CT show and talked about the possibility of Drake not signing any record deal at all….and just staying indie. Which would be a harbinger of death for the major labels….figuratively.

That would be INCREDIBLE if as the interviewer said, he were to be the first indy artist to go platinum. The industry would never be the same.
My question for you Miss Info or for anyone who knows: I always thought he was signed to Young Money/Cash Money, which based on this interview, he obviously is not. So whats his relationship with them?

yes I believe he is signed to them, but that doesnt mean he is part of the record label distrib deals that they already have in place.

It’s really is about being in the right place at the right time.Cuz I don’t think his talent/skill is on a level that would make you automatically say “he’s going to be the one to change the game” He’s nice but the first platinum indie artist would be unexpected.
