john is from bk, he went to jhs with me. A gifted and talented school out here in bk. and i think carlys daughter went to school with him at exeter. he was a gifted violinist from what ive been seeing on the throwback photos on facebook.

no matter what happened in that airport, i hope he can put his life together again and rebuild. Im sure the music industry will welcome him back with open arms.

QUESTION?

Isn’t it customary for one to be parolled after serving 50% of his/her sentence?

Would the benefit for John Forte be that when one is pardoned…It’s better than haveing your record “sealed and destroyed” because it makes it as though “crime” never happened as far as trying to get work, etc. or even better…. if in the future, charges were to be brought against one who has received a pardon in the past……would/could it be brought up in court? (Like they bring shit up that was either expunged,sealed,or destroyed)

Ok so Ms. Info I have a problem with you even suggesting that academic credentials/book smarts is worthless. I do agree that a balance is necessary but growing up in the hood, growing up with some of the worst of the worst, I know that education is A WAY OUT! No one wants to be street, or hood or live in the hood. And to be precise my book smarts get me alot more on the streets than my street smarts. I personally get nothing but love and respect for having attained my degree and that comes from people with only street smarts wishing they did what I did. And to me that means something.

I knew John back when we were 13. I was in the same group (Contingent) of Prep 9 as he was. I am just SO excited about the news! Whether he went to Exeter or not, he is human. We ALL make mistakes. A 14 yr sentence is pretty steep when there are people who get 5 to 8 for murder. I wish him NOTHING but the best. I know he has learned a lot and truly may God bless him and his family.
