(Consequence and Sway’s conversation is still livestreaming on repeat)

Mikey: Earlier this afternoon, Consequence appeared on MTV Rapfix to address the rumors surrounding his departure from G.O.O.D. Music. For what seems like years, Cons has been hinting at a personal rift between himself and Kanye. It wasn’t until recently that he also brought up issues with his cousin Q-Tip.
Cons’ issues seems to stem from Kanye and Q-Tip not following through with their promise to work on his long delayed album, Cons TV, which will now be titled Get Even.
Cons says he first felt abandoned by Kanye after the Taylor Swift situation and says he helped Ye creatively and personally over the years.

Miss Info: I just had a long conversation with Q-Tip, and obviously, his sense of the dispute with Cons is very different from the one expressed on RapFix. But much of this started after Kanye asked Cons to stop using the G.O.O.D Music logo last year. While that must have been painful, the two did continue to have some working relationship afterwards, namely during the Watch The Throne sessions (which Cons referred to today). I’d check to see what part of the conversation Tip wants public, but in the meantime, he has reacted on twitter as well: “‘That sounds a lil cryptic’.. Sway” “N—as be watching too much wrestling” “GLUE?? I gave the n—a a look.” “He doesn’t even know what the hell he’s talking abt. Now he’s talking abt my biz?” “Our fans aren’t stupid they wanna know.” “This n—a chomps… Damn.”

Quotes from Cons’ statements:

“I’m aggressively passive when it comes to confrontation. How long do you think I’m gonna sit and wait….all I know is this. [Kanye and I] were going to Q-Tip’s crib, going through samples….and he was talking about his situations. And I’ve always been here. I’ve played my position….there’s 2 things that change you. Life and Death. Unfortunately for [Kanye], Death changed his dynamic. And Life has changed my dynamic. I have a son coming in August. And he deserves to know how his dad contributed to this….I cannot allow nobody to sweep my legacy under the rug. Regardless, friend foe whatever.”

“It is true I participated on writing lyrics. Every album [Kanye's] had, I’ve been involved creatively…I’ve taken a mentor role on helping him deliver… Check the credits, I get royalty checks.
I helped out on “Champion” and never got credit…that was my brain thoughts.”

(Regarding other G.O.O.D. Music artists, ie Common, Pusha T, and maybe Big Sean?)
“You got a model, a plagarist, and a n—a running around fronting with the toast….make sure you listen to MOD 3. Holla”

“I’m from the streets. When you get in the street money, you ain’t entitled to the same rights as people from the private sector….When you dealing with street dudes, you gotta abide by that. We don’t learn to rap at Yale….”

“Clarification, I am no longer aligned with said parties [Kanye West, Q-Tip, GOOD Music]. And I’m in a great space creatively. I have a roster of talented people and I want to make sure they get their shot.”

Update: Cons’ comments on Amber Rose’ involvement after the jump

“Before I go any further, shout out to Amber (Rose),” said a relaxed Consequence. “I relate to who she is. I understand who she is as a woman. I wanna say this it out loud, I don’t think any woman ever wants to be in the position where their livelihood is compromised. No woman ever wants to ever have to work in (famed strip bar) Sue’s Rendezvous. She navigated herself the best way she could. It was a survival tactic.”

Cons continued to big up Amber’s ambition, viewing her relationship moves as part of a hustle to get ahead in life. “So when you see the trailer and you see her on stage with Kanye and then you her on stage with Wiz, it’s definitely not a shot at her.” When pressed by Sway why he included the blond bombshell in the clip, Cons passionately added, “’cause that’s how the game go. Let it go, homie. That’s how the game go. Don’t address no blond dykes, holla at the Cons.” – no doubt speaking to Kanye directly. As he ended his rant, Cons stated firmly the message was clear. That remains to be seen in the weeks to come following this blistering account
