Drake Says ‘Take Care’ Is About A Kid From Toronto Who Became a King

The more Drake talks about Take Care, the more I feel like his first album Thank Me Later was the superstar, Young Money millionaire version of Drizzy and his sophomore album is more from his heart. From the Drizzy that is still just a kid from Toronto with big dreams. In a recent interview with MTVNews, he explains Take Care as just a story…
“It was a world that was very much real to me, but I created it in my mind. It was a world that, being a kid from Toronto, I used to look at from the outside and I used to be like, ‘Man that looks crazy,’ ” he told us. “All those strip clubs and all those nightclubs and the drinks and the girls and the fame.”
“That’s who’s sitting on that album cover, that kid that’s just somehow gone from his mom’s basement in Toronto to becoming a king,” he explained of the image. “That’s what that album cover is about and there is a lot of deep thought involved in that ’cause you can go crazy doing this.”

Gotta feeling when Drake drops “Take Care” it’s gonna become the quintessential sensitive light-skinned brothas album. He is our leader after all, lol.

yeap their first albums were similar it was creepy and gave me a eiry feeling hearing cole world and drakes first album. cole world felt like a drake album (with undertones of his mixtape material carried over). I’m sure that’s due to the record labels systematic approach which is following trends of whats currently selling; they pin them against each other. I hope drake doesn’t fall for that gimic and makes something individual like he did with his first joint.
To be honest i’m sick of the king concept i do hope he takes a cinematic approach to it though.

selling fifty-thousand up there is going gold, so i guess it wouldn’t take much for him to think he’s king, huh?
