DJ Premier Denied Justin Bieber for 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher
Posted by Mikey Fresh under Life Beyond Rap[28] Comments
Here’s an untold story from this year’s BET Hip-Hop awards. Apparently, Justin Bieber wanted to spit a verse in the Cypher, which was cool with DJ Premier… until Biebs said he wanted Ludacris to pen his rhymes. Premo wasn’t having it and shut down his request with the quickness. Listen to him explain it below.

HA! Much love to Premo for keeping it real, he’ll probably get flack for that with Bieber’s people but whatevs. At least this might kill anything that resembles a Justin Bieber Gangsta Grillz mixtape

This proves that Big Sean wrote the Biebs lines on “Ladies Love Me’
He’s young, it happens. But he shouldn’t have that was ok in a cypher

“gotta write your own rhymes honey …”

I love Preemo’s voice, it relaxes me. (||)

From this interview: we have Premier call out Justin for wanting Ludacris to write his verse, he calls Chris Brown “super cool” and Rick Ross did his verse in one take, and we all know many did.
Oh and Premier called Justin “honey.” LMAO!

Here is the Cypher I want…Nas, Jazzy, Em, LL Cool J…Which that bitch ass niga Jazzy would never agree 2…He’s too big for hip hop..
Then I would do the crew cypher, Young Money, Shady 2.0, MBM, G-Unit and maybe one or 2 other crews..Make it a big deal annually abut who does what..
Then I would probably like to see Moe Dee fat ass, with Rakim, Slick Rick and Kane that would be dope..Legends cypher!

i think some ppl have been treating hip hop as a joke .but they dont kno that lot of ppl take it serious.like not all but a lot of rappers such as joe budden eminem to name a few like take a lot of time out their life to come up with these powerfull lyrics. and to show them too the world and its like then you hear about justin b trying to join them like these you tube rappers not all but some of these other kids or dudes its like you gotta step your game up too join them.younger ppl dont kno but in the 90s was hard. like if you dident spit some hott shit you would get dissed very heavy to the point you couldent leave your house.lol less your a game is up please leave hip hop alone lol.not sayinbg justin cant learn how to spit really good one day.but like these rich kids dont understand that eminem grew up poor joe grew up poor thats all they had was rap.back then thats how it was.and for some you tube kid to come in and try to spit among them it makes ppl feel a certian way.you dont have to be poor to get into hip hop but respect the element that you might try to step over.

This just adds to the legend of preemo.

I wont knock the kid but respect to Preemo for trying to keep some integrity to the art form. Like ok JUstin you’re too young to fully know where this came from but this isn’t something you just jump in. It’s almost like the game has so embraced things that are so “anti hip hop” that a kid like Justin had no idea that he was in violation.

That’s a O.G check; im glad he set some premises for where the hip hop lines blur. If more people were checked like this their wouldn’t be so much chucking and jiving going on. cause if they let Beiber in; it will open the flood gates. even if beiber wrote his own rhymes he still doesn’t get a pass in my opinion.
Im anti-drama because of that Justin beiber move. I think since hip hop artist are partial to R n b songs now-a-days beiber thought he had the green light. If you not cut from the m.c cloth i dont care how many records you’ve sold or how much money you have you get red lit and no cipher passes. Premo gets another stripe on his sleeve for this one.
October 17th, 2011 at 11:09 pm
That’s actually a dope concept ; they should have the older generation cypher tribute from 80s- to present day.

Preemo. Is standing up for real hiphop. About time someone stands the fu*k up. This would not have benefited HipHop. It would benefit Beiber(more album sales). The rap culture need to start opening their eyes because this is the kind of situation that hurts real Hip Hop. Bad enuff you can’t even sell records now. If more people start to stand up “maybe f*ck that possibly” rap can return to its original state with out the fakes… its like everyone wants to rap. Because rap act’s allow other genre’s to rap. when other rappers jump into other genre’s they are ridiculed but when someone wants to rap its acceptable. RAP IS A SERIOUS THING PEOPLE GET INTO HEATED ARGUMENTS,FIGHTS ETC. TO SEE WHO IS MORE LYRICAL. SO RESPECT THE ART FORM.

Okay, so you telling me Justin can’t rap, but lyin ass Willie can??
Everything Willie (Rozay) has done to this point is a Mockery of HipHop.. He stole a living man name and life story, he tatted another mans name on his body, he studied criminal justice in college and became a CO… Now he the Bawse, rapping bout drug n murder????
Yeah, Justin not allowed to rap, no1 says a word bout Willie raping our culture.. Fuck outta here
October 18th, 2011 at 9:50 am
damn, I think preemo saved hip hop right there lol
October 18th, 2011 at 2:29 pm
Eminem may have taken a lot of time to write his “powerful” lyrics, but what the hell was he talking about that anyone related to, besides murderers?
He needs a psych evaluation. He also says he doesn’t let his daughter swear or listen to his music. Gee I wonder why.
Thank God for him words alone doesn’t equal prison time.
If he is the definition of Hip Hop, god have mercy on our souls. He’s talented, but I’m not buying into his version of rap.

Ain’t Haley like 16? She’s def listened to at least one of her dad’s songs by now
October 18th, 2011 at 7:32 pm
Mr. Martin i would really like to see a jetlife cypher. Im sure you know about rapper Curren$y and his crew that are killing the underground. I just wish it was possible to see that i think that would be really cool..
October 18th, 2011 at 7:59 pm
Okay, but a nigga who stole a living mans name tatted on his body, went to college for criminal justice and was Law enforcement… On top of that lied bout it. BUT HE ALRIGHT, CAUSE HE A LABEL CREATION….
CAN’T PLAY IT BOTH WAYS AND BE REAL….
October 18th, 2011 at 9:09 pm

October 18th, 2011 at 9:17 pm
I strongly believe that it’s the radio stations that allow this GIMMICK to continue. I understand it’s a business BUT damn every other genre is not allowing others to into their groups. But hip hop allows everyone. not realizing that others benefit more than rap does.
October 19th, 2011 at 12:50 am
exactly Winston.
Beiber’s an easy target. Rozay, not so much.
The hilarious thing about Rozay (and other non-talented rappers) is that their existence allows for a person like Beiber to even THINK about freestyling someone else’s rhymes.
