Incomplete Thoughts: 1-03-08

-Low point of today: Fonzworth Bentley scat-freestyling in this horrible Fauxandre-3000 style, while dressing Conan O’Brian up like a circus dandy. Conan’s reaction: “Uh…what was up with that song?…..I look like Donald Trump’s go-nowhere country cousin.” (I am easily embarrassed when humiliating things happen to people, and this was unbearable to watch.)
-High point of the day: getting a tip that missinfo.tv was included on Entertainment Weekly’s Best of the Web round-up. Thank you for that. Totally honored. And now stressed and nervous about it too. (btw: I’m assuming that if they included me, then illdoctrine and nahright must be scheduled for the cover of EW’s next issue. Along with dozens of other sites that I enjoy almost daily. Hmm, maybe I’ll make my own list of favorites….eh, I’d end up leaving a goodie out and that would suck.)
-Funny of the day: my sister showed me this clip from a 1980’s Japanese variety show from cult-star Takeshi Beat Kitano. In the clip, contestants are forced to play soccer with binoculars on. Complete hilarity.
-Question of the day: I haven’t checked my Myspace in 6 months. Can’t say I miss it. But everyone says I need a Facebook. Is this true?

yeah it’s true, it’s becoming a big part of this generation’s social life…facebook is an easy way to keep track of your friends and has less of the pornstar vibe of myspace if you know what i mean. i must warn you though, it’s highly addictive and the extra applications get obnoxious, but what doesn’t come with baggage these days

hey! that’s the teacher from battle royale! I need to see that movie in a theater one day.
I can’t figure out sites like myspace and facebook. once you make a profile then what are you supposed to do?

@swizzy…but it seems like all you can do is link to coworkers or former classmates, no? How do I just check in with other people with similar interests? ie: food, Asian-American culture, 90’s rap, and….food?
@binary star…yes exactly! Battle Royale! How twisted was that flick?

everyone is on facebook these days. especially all the college students.
i guess you can just search from the bar on the left in facebook for common intersts between yourself & others within your area & just in general (groups). like i just did a search & came up with this:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2214303675
heretofore, i did not know borat’s country (kazakhstan) is located in central asia. *shrugs* all thanks to facebook, haha.
japanese have the weirdest game shows (human tetris?). & congrats on being recognized by EW.

I use Facebook to keep in touch with old High School & College friends, & some family who are “internet” friendly – ONLY.
No associates, no just-met-you peoples, no potential booty-call-women, nunna that.
If you use FaceBook for your industry connects, you might as well stick with MySpace, or worse..Xanga.
(laughing)

myspace and facebook are pretty much one in the same so keep the myspace. facebook is pretty cool though minus the pornstar trying to be your friend if that’s what you like info.
that clip is too hilarious by the way. that should be your trademark by posting a funny video of the week or something. remember if you do follow my advice, you better give me credit for it or else…………

@8 ron art….holy shit, NBA with binoculars would be amazing! No more “Fire Isiah” chants if he made that happen.
@9 ray….lol, that would require me to be consistent. which is not my forte : ) but as for your facebook advice, I set one up and I can already tell I won’t be able to keep it up. Too many little boxes, lol.

Sweetie watch out! They deleted my MySpace: I kinda had it “parked” but did use it to keep in touch with a few peeps…
FACEBOOK – YES (for YOU I think it would be an excellent communications/networking tool) – I have one but haven’t played much at all on it – YET.

yeah…as cynsuous was saying, there are groups for every common interest out there and you can talk on discussion boards as well as the wall that each group has. when all that TI business was happening, i wanted to start a “free TI” group but then i found that a few were already started. haha…don’t give up on FB just yet! it gets more fun as you find more of your friends, so move more of your homies on to it (i recommend only adding people who know, dare i say, “minya” rather than all us over here who know miss info, lol!) oh and like AD, i bookmarked illdoctrine as well as theReal…that jay-z/B wedding skit is hilarious. even more so bc it’s true.
