Huh? Bangladesh Picks a Completely Unnecessary Beef With Swizz Beatz
Posted by Mikey Fresh under beef[15] Comments
Well, we can’t say we saw this one coming. Seemingly out of nowhere, producer Bangladesh had some harsh words for Swizz Beatz. In a recent face-to-face interview with a writer at XXL, the man responsible for laying the beat for Weezy’s classic “A Millie” flat out said Swizz is not relevant and is only popping because he married Alicia. Yes, we’re thinking the same thing. Is Bangladesh smoking bathsalts? Now, you should now he is denying that he “dissed” Swizz and is saying his words were taken out of context. Okay guy. Check out everything that happened below. Hopefully, XXL will drop the audio from the interview. (Like I did when Waka’s mom called me out)
“I don’t think Swizz is relevant,” Bangladesh told XXL. “I’m keeping it 100.”
“I think there’s a difference between relevance and musical relevance,” he says. “You married a lady that’s poppin’ [Alicia Keys], you know it’ll give you a lot of relevance, but you gotta make hits. Ain’t no hits. Are you relevant for the craft you’re doing or the life you live as far as the decisions you make?
Read the rest of Bangladesh’s words for Swizz, Swizzy’s reply and Bangladesh’s Twitter explanation after the jump…
“The relevance is in being youthful,” the outspoken producer added. “Still being in-the-know. I have a 15 year old son so they think we’re brothers and I put him on to stuff. You know, I’m 34 but people tell me I look 23. He still look to me for information. Usually it’s the opposite; usually the parents are lame or too old to understand or whatever. Just the way I feel, I got so much more time.” (read the full story at XXLMag)
Swizz replied with a single tweet: @THEREALSWIZZZ: Don’t use Hate as a cure 4 your insecurities & ignorance !!!!!!!!!!! Use Positive energy and learn about who you are as a person!
Of course Bangladesh copped out on Twitter.
@MRBangladesh writes:
he’s a big inspiration. That not what interviewed about. That’s what they edited. this isn’t real bro interview wasn’t even about u. They slick reversed the focus. Inspiration is who you are so ur relevant. hey edit shit how they want to. that interview wasn’t even about swizzy, she asked a question about swizz and it wasn’t relevant in my interview
Is he wyling out?

Bangladesh is wilding for this one… I would love to see the audio surface online.
Swizzy is a legend and I don’t think anybody can deny that…….
BUT if I had one bone to pick with Swizzy it would be the damn rapping or speaking on records… Cut that shit out. I find his voice to be rather annoying.. Everytime he opens his mouth on a record he devalues his production. Case in point, have you heard the new Nas album? Swizz Beats song on there is easily the worst song on the album and not because the production was wack but because his voice is on the record.
I preferred when I used to have to figure out it was some Swizz Beats production or hear the rapper shout him out or something…

1. WHEN WAS THE LAST HOT BANGLADESH BEAT? I PREVIOUS HAD ISSUES WITH THE OVER-BASQUIAT-IZATION THAT SWIZZ IS DOING BUT HE TOLD ME HIS REASONING BEHIND AND I RESPECT THAT
2. BUT WHERE IS THE FLOCKA DISS TO GUCCI IN THAT REFERENCE LINK? STILL CAN’T HEAR IT TWO YEARS LATER.
3. COULD BE BATHSALTS. COULD BE BUDDEN-DUST: HE GOT ON A PINK PLAID HAT WITH NO SHIRT, COME ON SON

This guy needs about 100 more hits before he can even question swizzy. swizzy was part of that era of rap that wasn’t gimmick. ruffryders….

RAP is so BUBBLEGUM…. Say what you mean-Mean what you say. If it was me I would have contacted the person and made him aware I had an interview and your name was thrown in the mix. And state what you said. So like that when the article does drop it was already fixed with both parties aware….

All I know is this 100 by Bangladesh Pusha T Jadakiss 2CHAINZ >>>>> Swizz and Nas Life is GOOD.
Swizz is a legend, however he is falling off.
1. He thinks he’s kanye.
2. He thinks he’s kanye.
3. He thinks he’s kanye.
He’s not a trendsetter, but he thinks he is. He’ thinks he can rap, but he can’t. He think’s his ad-libs help make a song, it acutally breaks it.
Bangledesh is not better than swizz in no shape and form overall but, he is right about one thing. His dealings with reebok, and a couple other ventures, he wouldn’t of gotten if he wasn’t Mr. Miss Keys.

I don’t see him trying to be Kanye in ANY way what so ever!! that’s a reach! 2 TOTALLY different styles! not just musically but in terms of style, attitude you name it!! If anything Kanye bigged HIM up as the greatest! You’re right about one thing, being Mr Keys helped him get MAJOR deals out there but at least he’s bringing some real creativity into what he does!!! He actually creates art & art galleries, while these other rappers (ya man Kanye included) would just buy art & critique art just to seem like they know what they’re talking about — like a thousands of douchebags do at the MET per day! Son, I don’t see the Kanye likeliness at all…and for you to put that 3 times you must really feel that way! But how though???!!

Y’all trippin’ Swizz been getting to this money before Alicia. Scoring movies for Oliver Stone and producing rock albums for legitimate rock stars and shit before it was trendy. He’s had a solid placement on the some of the biggest projects every year for the past 6 years. From Beyonce to Job to The Throne, just to mention a few. Don’t even have to mention what he did in the late 90s/early 00s.
If anything he’s been more quiet since getting married. Other than the Reebok deal.

Swizz has ALWAYS been a multi-tasking hustler and artist. The high artsy stuff seems new to folk now but Swizz been into art since he was kid.
Musically I personally havent heard much recently that I liked from Swizz. He made me sick with his attempt at an NY Knick Anthem but in spite of that he’s done more in a yr then Bangladesh may do in an entire career.

Word. They just weren’t paying attention. I remember him talking about his art in a magazine back in ’05. He partnered with Kidrobot in ’06, designed sneakers for Christian Louboutin and even did some work with Lotus. Swizz been putting in work.
