Hot97 SummerJam 2010 Recap: Nicki Minaj, Drake, Usher, Cam’ron, Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Trey Songz and more

(Nicki Minaj and Drake, Usher)
Above, and after the jump are just a few of the photos that the Hot97 staff photographers snapped from in front of the stage at Hot97’s Summerjam 2010 tonite….lots of action, and alot of cross-pollination of acts, lol. I was thoroughly shocked by Trey Songz’ combo self-love-simulation and audience-member make-out session. But as I mentioned in the earlier post, it felt like there was a momentum peak around DJ Khaled’s set, mainly because he kept it moving very quickly and appealed to everyone from the Bronx to the Caribbean and more. It stared with Ludacriss and Nicki Minaj, then flowed directly to Khaled, who brought out T-Pain, Busta, then Rick Ross, then Fat Joe, then Barrington Levy, then Cam’ron and Vado (Cam first did “I Really Mean It,” and then together they did “Speakin’ Tungs”), then Rick Ross again (“Hustlin’”), ending with everyone doing the chorus for “All I Do I Win.” For more photos check out the Hot97.com galleries.
Also inserted in the photo roundup….the homie Blogxilla took some cute photos of Nicki Minaj walking with Cassie, before bringing her onstage at Summerjam. During Ludacris’ set, Nicki came out to perform “Lil Freak,” and Cassie joined them onstage for the line about “stealing Cassie from Diddy.” They held hands and walked off.
As for the questions about Dipset, the “reunion” was a bit disjointed. Yes, Juelz had his set, and he brought out Maino and Lloyd Banks. But Cam’ron didn’t join him, he came with Vado during Khaled’s set. And sadly, Jim Jones was not allowed in the stadium because of his run-in with the cops at last year’s Summer Jam. Also, I’m sad that Jeezy didn’t show.

(gotta love the fact that I sat down with my hair still in curlers to fend off the humidity, and got caught in a photo while talking to Ang and Juelz, lol. Doh!)
Check out all the selected photos, as well as a video of Juelz Santana and Lloyd Banks performing “Beamer Benz or Bentley”….after the jump,

i was lookin forward to seeing drake and nicki but they both turned out to be a disappointment. i expected them to do something memorable. nicki didnt do none of her own songs she just featured all nite with everybody else. drake show was nothing special. i feel when it come to NY summer jam artist should go hard or go home. and why was drake on so early? this is the hottest rapper in the game and he came on while people was still at the snack bar LOL

How the fck would you know how they feel? You personally asked each and every one of them or something? Have they not earned the right to feel PROUD while they’re performing on stage?? Or would you rather see them moping around up there with their heads hung low feeling like losers. Stupid hater.

Didn’t go this year but went to about 4 back in the days. Sad there was no Kanye, Jay, Dipset Reunion, etc but I would rather see Drake and Young Money Junior High, Usher and Trey than… Kid Cudi, Wale, Charles Hamiliton, Mickey Factz, Asther Roth and the rest of those “Freshmen” tofu chicken eaters that were supposed to tear up the charts. Only thing they’re tearing are those skinny jeans.

gucci going on first was a dumb move. who decision was that? dont they know waka and gucci are on fire in NY? i got love for talib but everybody knows summer jam aint the place for him to get love and he def should not have came on 3rd while somebody with major hits like gucci and waka go 1st. the whole time talib was on stage everyone stood there waiting for him to get off. i like talib but hot 97 crowd aint really his audience and everyone knows this.

SUMMER JAM WAS WACK I’ve been to the past 5 sumer jams and this was the worst one…All the hype for it being the new stadium and there were barley any special guests. Nicki Minaj was the only FEMALE there? We know what she was doing after the show, same thing she did to get her career. Only trey songz and usher for rnb usher barley sang he just humped a chair for 10mins, DJ Khaled performed All I do is win twice? Like he has no other songs, Cam and Juelz didn’t even speak to each other Just corny all around parking lot party was the best part, Summer ham is slipping…
