I’m sorry but this list looks like they are reaching…half of these dudes will do two songs and they’re out.
What happened to Jay and Yeezy?? There catalog alone would have kept the crowd entertained…

I know you can’t say it miss info but this will be the worst summerjam besides last years just bad however I can’t put all the blame on hot 97 because this is a sad relection of the rap game hmm maybe dj’s and program directors will finally get the point that we need to have more variety on the station and look for some new artist and not give artist the your wack but i’m gonna give you a pass ticket” The last good summerjam was 2009 to be honest boy I remember when summerjam was summejam remeber that 1999 lineup with ruff ryders and jay- z , ja rule, damn I’m stillll calling hot 97 trying to get tickets To that show show

This is the worst Summer Jam ever – and that’s with 18 years of history behind them. Drake was the clear choice to headline and the fact that they wouldn’t pull off getting him to leave Chicago to do their show the next day speaks volumes! This is even worse than the SJ Nas got booed! SJ shows used to be relevant…that’s why Michael Jackson made a appearance. Now you can find this wack lineup at any city and at any college in this country. Emmis Communications must really be hurting for money. And Nicki Minaj better beware becuz I can see her getting booed off that SJ stage like many before her…..EMBARASSING LINEUP!

It might be a recipe for disaster putting Nicki on after MMG. Wayne, Drake, Rihanna, & whoever else she can pull out the bag better be making surprise appearances.

The lineup S-U-C-K-S! The only one worth watching is J. Cole (but even his stage presence is ehh). As for surprise guests, since certain “big name” rappers are too busy elsewhere in the world, Drake and/or Nas are the only 2 guys to save this disgrace of a lineup for “The Biggest Hip-Hop/R&B Concert of the Year.”

Disappointed with this set but it’s reflection of the music industry. It seems like now if you want to catch a great lineup, you need to go to an actual festival (SxSW, Coachella, Essence, I Heart Radio).

All those artists make up 97% of what they play on the daily basis, why are people so upset, who did you think was gonna perform?

@Jason
Tru Tru. Masta Ace + MF Doom headlining would’ve been the ticket.
I personally was expecting Ace + Doom, Outkast reunion, DMX, Rick Rubin’s All-Star Tribute to Beastie’s….then in some time slot stick in Nicki Minaj to keep the 15 year olds and bloggers happy (Eminem showing up to do Roman’s Revenge @ SJ would be a highlight in her career).
(Sidebar: the posts on here is making me LMBAO too!)

they should be able to get JayZ on board…he knows hot97 and uses the station as an outlet whenever he desires, a station that has supported his career since the beginning so he owes them the respect to come do a set for free
-just saying

Sorry Thomas…that already happened in 1999 & 2000. You are about 13 years too late. Jay doesn’t “owe’ Hot 97 anything for free, he paid his debt several times over.

Hot97 is in a tough spot. The music that’s their lifeblood, as is with other Hip-Hop stations, doesn’t have alot of quality individual talent. So while Nicki Minaj as a headliner is strange, specifically because Nicki isn’t trying to be a rapper anymore, they still have to fill Giants Stadium (excuse me….Metlife Stadium). Better to have artists that have alot of collaborations as their biggest hits as they will be able to substitute their lack of talent with “crew love”, and fill a stadium. They should have went with Jay-z & Kanye though, if they were an option. Stronger catalog between the two of them & I’m sure ppl would’ve done alot of special cameos to be apart of that kind of show

yea but as hip hop music or music alltogather do ppl have to deal with these none talent acts just so radio stations can get paid. other than just putting out good artist and have everyone injoy them.its the computer era like ppl get new songs before the radio u can make your own play list on your i pod.the radio is kinda a thing of the past. radio stations should turn into hip hop labels they know all the artist.just a thought yours,
