This clip was almost like my Saturday morning cartoons for the weekend. Here’s a great look back at New York City’s famed Roosevelt Hotel record convention from the 90s. The monthly vinyl meet up would attract the likes of Lord Finesse, Q-Tip, Pete Rock, Buckwild, Showbiz, Beatminerz, Diamond D, and more back in the day. NYC’s hip-hop producers would all hit the record show in search of the next sounds that would help mold East Coast rap music. The Gasface collective talked to Chairman Mao/Egotrip about what it was like to be apart of hip-hop history.
