Hip Hop x Videogames: Beaterator and Scratch: The Ultimate DJ

My friends at RockStar Games have been hard at work on a videogame that lets you fulfill your producer fantasies…its called Beaterator, and it drops September 29 for the PSP. In the above clip, Timbaland (aka Jay-Z’s least favorite person right now, lol) shows how you can build your own tracks.
Now in other upcoming game releases….along with the DJ Hero game that drop on Oct 27, 2009, there’s also the game Scratch: The Ultimate DJ (dropping in 2010, from my boy QD3) which comes with a much more realistic turntable controller designed by Numark. Judging from the demo video, Scratch is more of a true deejaying experience and much more technically challenging than DJ Hero.
more, after the jump…
I’m interested in playing Beaterator (I’m always looking for new PSP games to take on the plane), Scratch and DJ Hero….but after reading this fascinating article in the New York Times Magazine on all the elements that went into making the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band edition (Sept 9), I’m definitely looking forward to playing that at parties. NYT also made this accompanying video…
(sidebar: no shots but….the lead singer of that Beatles fan band probably shouldnt get hooked on any more pasttimes that will take away from his sleep schedule. Holy bags under your eyes!)

Man the beaterator game looks wack, Im more interested in the DJ games. For DJ Hero I still can’t connect their gameplay to their controller. The Scratch game looks tooo in depth.
As for Beatles Rockband, that game will do NUMBERS!

This may come off wrong but are there artists you mess with that know Beatles songs? I would die to hear Cam’rom sing Helter Skelter.

yeah but on the other hand….artists make a nice royalty off of videogame usage of their music.

Seems interesting…looks like everyone is gonna cop the DJ Hero at least. I guess it’ll hold me over until the Scratch joint drops.
