When I first heard about this my immediate thought was “this is why you cant just give black people shit,” but I realized that their is something innately wrong with our society/community that all the Al Sharpton’s and Jesse Jackson’s out there haven’t been able to address. I truly feel a lot of this comes down to home training and teaching our children how to be mindful about an issue that holds so much severity. This is exactly what Bill Cosby was talking about!

So I have deduced it to this: these people never really had anything so why should we expect them to act like they did? Would it be nice to have “This how you preserve and properly represent the black race when you blow up on the national scene” seminars across the country? Yes. Will it happen? No, but someday I wish people would acquire some common sense. Is this entire situation ignorant as all hell? Yes. Is this unexpected? If you really sat and thought about it, I’d doubt it. Will this stop me for fighting for my people tooth and nail at every opportunity? Not at all. We (as African Americans in addition to other ethnicities) must be the torchbearers and fight IN SPITE OF (because it is easy to see this and just give up). My pastor used to always say, “If I could help somebody…my work is not in vain” You won’t save them all, you just have to do the best you can to get “one”

BTW…With all that I said let’s keep our eyes on the facts of this case which was to prevent people from getting their constitutional rights are not being trampled on. Being ignorant has nothing to do with the right and wrong in this case.
