Grand Farewell, Grand Welcome Home: T.I. out of prison in 2 months? (Update)
Posted by Miss Info under crime , hmmm....? , life beyond rap , photos , relationships and family[56] Comments

(photo of T.I. at his farewell party this past Sat. in Miami, spotted at Kiddunot)
Yes, everyone is in a tizzy about this factoid in the Associated Press:
“T.I., whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., must report to Forrest City’s low-security federal prison by noon on May 26, according to court filings. There, Harris will join 1,500 other inmates as he serves a year-and-one-day prison sentence after pleading guilty in March to federal weapons charges in Atlanta.
The rapper, the self-proclaimed “King of the South,” had faced a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each charge in his three-count indictment.
Harris will be credited for 305 days of home detention he already has served after being charged, so his stay at the Forrest City prison likely will be only two months…”
Well, then I guess if there’s any leftover cake and champagne from Saturday’s farewell party, they should just throw it in the fridge, cuz the Kang will be back before August? They may still be editing the two new videos he’s shooting this week. Yung Dro will only have gotten 2 pedicures in that time. (Maybe 3 since he’s the gator mandals-wearing type). Baby Leezy will not have been born yet. It’s right around the corner.
Do you hate or congratulate? I congratulate but then again, I’m one of the few who feel like his public service was worth more to the system than his lock-down time. But I’m not oblivious to the fact that….2 months is pretty short. And house arrest in a mansion with your girl and your kids is not the same as being captive in general population, even at a low security prison, like Forrest City.
(more details from the AP report on T.I.’s upcoming prison time, and photos from his party, after the jump….)
“…R.D. Weeks, a spokesman for the prison, said Harris likely would be treated like any other prisoner coming into the facility.
“Unless there are custody or security concerns, all incoming inmates are placed in general population,” Weeks told The Associated Press.
Weeks said each cell at the prison is double-bunked. Harris also will have the opportunity to use the recreation yard, as well as take part in counseling or participate in the one of the facility’s 14 religious groups, Week said.
Harris, 28, was arrested after trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents in 2007. That came after Harris’ best friend was killed following a post-performance party in Cincinnati in 2006. The rapper has said the bullets that killed his friend were meant for him.
Upon his release, Harris will be on probation for three years. He also must pay a $100,000 fine as part of his sentence…”
I’ve never seen pierced dimples like that…its cute on this girl. For now. ( Chyna, Tiny, Dolce who is apparently a popular ATL stripper, photo from BallerAlert via Crunktastical)

(another photo from BallerAlert. The very pretty woman on the left is Sarah Chapman, the mysterious woman who gave birth to Diddy’s daughter just months before Kim Porter had twin daughters by Diddy in 2007. For more photos from the party, check The305 as well.)

this is proof once and for all that money in fact can buy freedom:
Clifford Harris not only had a militia’s worth of guns and silences, he makes some bullshit pop CD and even bullshittier TV show talking about how he changed. That & a bus load of money brings a max 10 yr sentence to 2 months?!
Clifford Harris is a Liar & con & I wont be surprised when at the end his sentence he’s rapping about guns & coke again. I’m ashamed I spent 9.99 on that weed plate of a cd 4 yrs ago.

Well, that’s that…T.I. will forever be a snitch, at least on the Internet. Lucky for him, he’s one of the few rappers left with a viable mainstream career, otherwise he’d be screwed. Snitching is the last “taboo” thing left, it looks like….can’t actually rap? No problem. You’re a big fraud? So what? But snitching, for now at least, is still a no-go…Waiting on a snitching rapper on the hit-making level of Kanye or Wayne, I wanna see what happens.

absolutely amazing. 2 months? even with community service time and whatever deal he made. 2 months? a convicted felon? wow?
In other news, Tiny looks like a midget Mariah Carey. TI and Tiny love the skrippers :giggle:

T.I. can flow, but I’m sorry.
Predicate felon arrested with several fire arms, inf beams, silencers etc., and he gets 2 months actual time.
He snitched, simple as that.

I want to say I feel sorry for T.I fans
They tried their best to cover up the snitch stuff, when it was obvious from the gate, what are they gonna say now
Oh, u still dont have proof. Yea a man saying call TIPS when you crime isnt a major form of snitching. He’s the reason dude got locked up from the gate. The D.A made his brother snitch on him so they brought him to court. T.I showed up at his trial for murdering his friend, and dude went away for years. Then people wanna say its his friend. He didnt snitch cause it was his friend or it woulda been done right after he got killed. He snitched cause HE was going to jail for a long time

As great as he has tried to turn his life around doing positive things for the community. I still think he should serve out his sentence to the fullest. 2 months for buying automatic weapons and silencers? Wow, what does that show our society? So he’s a very well-known music artist and actor. He still bleeds red like everybody else. This just goes to show how f’ed up our justice system is. What a load of crap.

ALTHOUGH I THINK ARTISTICALLY T.I.P IS VERY TALENTED. THE MEANS JUST DON’T JUSTIFY THE ENDS. I HATE TO SEE ANOTHER BROTHER IN PRISON BUT I DON’T CONDONE SINGING TO REDUCE SENTENCES EITHER.
AND PRESENTED WITH ALL THE INFORMATION I COULD. I WILL HAVE TO PRESUME THAT THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT HE DID

I think this is wonderful testament to what can happen when a person caught up in a dire circumstance can do to turn it around. I’m not angry at any person that doesn’t have to spend time in prison. That’s just ridiculous. It really does serve a greater good to allow him to be used as an instrument of change to speak some common sense to young people and not merely cage and warehouse another man. And the lame that ratted him out should really feel stupid now too. He ate all that cheese just to make TI an emblem of hope.

its really sad that there are twolegal systems in this country…one for rich, privialged people like TI and one for the rest of us. Even any of us talking on this forum got caught doing what TI was doing we would be facing serious hard time…over a year for sure, prob more like 3-5. Now take into the fact that TI was already a convicted felon and you can see what should have happened to him. Fact is TI is showing who he really is, a rich dude and a snitch from the burbs, not a gangsta from the hood

You cant tell me he aint no snitch. His crew is a snitch, Prodigy is doing three years for a gun, and TI had machine guns, is a felon, and is only gonna do two months? Tell me chilling in his mansion for almost a year is punishment? Oh yeah, and come on Info, you sticking up for him, why? So he can give you an interview or something? Be fucking real, how many other rappers have done shit, less and get more time, Kim did a year, P doing years for a gun, I’m sorry, a year was one thing, but now only gonna do 2 months, fucking Paris Hilton did half that time for a DUI, I’m sorry dude is a snitch ass bitch, fake as hell, you dont just get two months for that, sorry, dont care how much money etc you have, if he had to do the year I could atleast say, it still fucked up, but ok, but two months for that. How is Prodigy doing years for a gun while TI is in and out of jail that quickly with machine guns, silencers etc. I dont want to hear NY, not ATL etc, law is the law, guns are guns, shit is fucked up.

ok lets think about this how can a regualar person with a court appointed lawyer go out and do as much community service as T.I. did also could they have as much impact as T.I. does. Also add this in would it have been better to waste the tax payers money giving T.I. a place to sleep eat and sh*t for free or let him give back to the community and help influence some young kids not to go the same route. i think that the judges experiment with T.I. should be used across the country verses wasting the tax payers money and sending our blk men to jail when they could do so much more if giving the oppurtunity.

and oh yeah if he was an informant they would have documents ppl tried to say one of the biggest drug dealers in durham NC was a snitch and come to find all his ppl snitched on him. Thy put it on a DVD. don’t go around calling ppl snitches when u don’t even know the whole truth. during these ecomonic times would it have been better to waste money on him in jail or have one of atl biggest money makers behind jail. you want to draw to the tourist so its not smart to put away one of your cities biggest money makers.

i dont think he a snitch…i jus thnk that money talks and in this case walks….figure he paid i believe…and dont quote me on this …info correct me if im wrong but he payed close to a million if not more per day on his house arrest….that alone is pretty much over 300 million dollars that the system took from him …plus 1000 hours of community service “free labor”, free performances, appearances, psa commercials, ect. fact is that with all the money he dished out…not to mention his lawyers (probably another 25 to 30 million in fees)…i know 2 months is pretty lenient but im sure if u had over 300 million to spend on a case …you’d be looking at a few months in prison too

Why is everyone hatin, if my boy got shot with me right there I would have got weapons 2 protect myself to. Especially him bein a celebrity. Maybe he went overboard with his weapons choice, but he still shouldn’t be ridiculed by people who know nothing about his real situation. I’m not sayin i do, but its pretty easy for u people talk sh*t when it ain’t u goin to jail. And because he’s getting out so early he’s a snitch, doubt it. He made so much effort to better himself and other people he gets less time, is it that hard to understand. People who serve more time for a smaller charge probably don’t try to help themselves. Maybe we should worry about our own lives. Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, BUT anyone can start today and make a new ending.

To the dude who compared Prodigy’s case to this one, two major difference…
1) Prodigy was arrested with the weapon on his person and a search of his home found more, T.I. was caught in a sting operation trying to buy the weapons, therefore they were not truly in his position at the time of the crime.
2) Prodigy is from Mob Deep, and yes Mob made a dope album back in the 90s but since then they dropped wack shit(that new Letter To P track is sick though), and didn’t sell shit, which is what the label cares about, which is what pays for your legal representation, which is what gets people like T.I., 1 year on a federal charge like that.
Mob Deep was young and dumb and musta got taken for a ride by the label cuz those niggas are straight BROKE.

? i am guessing not, right? so man don’t assume that he did this or he didn’t. Until you have heard it from the man himself then shut up, like do you..and let him worry about him…cus i know you have at least heard some of his songs and liked em…so dont hate on em unless you have legit proof on they guy….true words no disrespect to anyone here
