ATL’s Goodie Mob is just a few weeks away from the release of their long-waited comeback album, Age Against The Machine, due on August 27. Janelle Monae helps out in the John Colombo-directed flick. The Mob shuts down a high school as they push their message of free thinking and individualism. In a recent interview, Janelle talked about the group’s infuence on her music.

“I live in Atlanta, Georgia, and I grew up on OutKast, I grew up on Goodie Mob, I grew up on Dungeon Family,” said Janelle. “So the fact that they’re coming back with music that is jamming and that I get to be a part of it, it’s just such an honor.” (via Rap-Up)
