Gee Roberson Launches ‘Blueprint’ Label Through Interscope: Who Did He Sign?
Posted by Mikey Fresh under interview[2] Comments
One of Roc-A-Fella’s earliest execs, Gee Roberson, has officially launched his own record label through Interscope Geffen. From the late 90s to now, Gee rose through the ranks and worked as Atlantic Records’ senior VP of A&R, headed the label’s urban music division and of course ran his management company, Hip Hop Since 1978, with past and present clients such as Kanye West, Just Blaze. Lil Wayne, Drake Nicki Minaj, T.I. and others. He still runs Blueprint management with Weezy’s right hand man Cortez Bryant. According to Billboard, Hit-Boy and LEP Bogus Boys will be among the first artists signed.
“I’m very happy about the knowledge and experience I gained at Geffen that will be very useful going forward in the future.” Roberson said. “Now it’s time to go back to my roots, that entrepreneurial spirit, wrap my arms around my own label and fold it into Interscope Geffen A&M. Based on the relationship I already have with Jimmy and everyone at the label, this is a very natural move that’s filled with synergies.”
