Game’s ‘Jesus Piece’ Album Cover: Sacrilegious or Artistic?

The Game is an expert as grabbing news headlines at the drop of a dime. Well, earlier today Compton’s own dropped the official artwork for his upcoming Jesus Piece album. He takes his title a step further and actually portrays himself as Jesus in the controversial mock up. Considering it’s Sunday, I’d say he’s in for a boatload of backlash. Father forgive him.

It’s nothing by today’s standards of secret society based, satanist, blasphemous imagery. Regardless of if its based on personal belief or just shock value this genre views faith as just another thing to play with for attention.
Then they’ll win an award and thank god for all his blessings. :/

Read better for understanding of proper context.
This was a reference to a current trend in imagery not an accusation of any secret society membership.

he’s not portraying his likeness as Jesus. more a generic gangsta-Jesus (not much better, tho). not feelin it, cuz it’s more thirsting via controversy. no need to be ‘extra’ on the story, Game does it enough.

Nice attempt at deflection…Statement still stands. He stole the whole concept/look of the cover. Biting is biting regardless if you’re too much of an idiot to not know who Bishop is. Game is a hater, biter, secret admirer, name-dropper, wackjob all rolled into one!

Hahaha…naw man I know exactly who bishop is..he’s just another of those Dre protégés that was swept under the rug and never blew…like knocturnal..6’2…stat quo..and soon to be slim the mobster…so I know who he is. But most people don’t..just like most people probably didn’t even know his album cover existed. Look man, regardless each one teach one..and one artist inspires another. Look at Nas’ illmatic cover then all the subsequent album covers with baby pictures thereafter. It’s all hip hop. But for the record games album cover looks better than bishops. however none of them look better than tupacs makaveli cover.

neither sacrilegious or Artistic, more laughable … you’d have to take it seriously first to be offended by it … I mean the jesus on the cover is black for gods sake are there ppl in the world who actually argue that/make it a issue ?? why ? and then what ??.
And its far far far from art, its actually silly … weed leaves, Louis V like prints, jesus wearing a chain of himself.
lol is funny … comes across as trolling (doing something controvrsal to get attention, comments and traffic so to claim/prove relevence), but sadly enough for Game its Kendrick lamar who has everyones attention right now from the west and this wont help steal some of kendricks shine … this will be forgotn b4 the stores open tomorrow morning for kendricks release.

Actually there are references to cannabis in the torah, and as for the other imagery, one could make a connection between Christianity and commercialism easily. Just look at all the prosperity ministers who grovel, and whore for money.

In Islam, there is no depiction of God. Allah is Arabic meaning “the God”. As for Jesus and Muhammad they are both prophets and men. Depiction of any prophet is forbidden, for what should now be obvious reasons.
Also, I’m Muslim and my community has led a movement to eliminate imagery from religious groups since the early 80s. This includes the image of Jesus.
Think about the impact the established mainstream depiction of Prophet Jesus has had on the world. The message they carry is of importance not how they looked.

The artwork is ok at best.
And it no way is he portraying himself as Jesus, that’s not what I see at least. Long curly hair? How is that supposed to be Game?

He’s obviously portraying himself as a Catholic cardinal or bishop. Where are people seeing that he’s portraying himself as Jesus. The only portrayal of Jesus on that cover is the Jesus Chain itself. People need to calm the fuck down.

Im a lot older then when I bought the Pac album. Would not support that bullshit today. Jesus is Lord. I am a Game fan and have all his albums but as Christian I am tired of rappers doing this. So game wont get any money from me.
