50-cent

The entire G-Unit grouped together (sans Kidd Kidd) and hit the HOT 97 studios early this morning for a long overdue sit-down. Fresh off the release of their latest EP, 50, Buck, Banks, Yayo plopped down in the studio for over an hour.

Their conversation ranged from their reunion, social media, Spanish women, 50’s TV show Power, the crew’s next album and way more. One interesting moment comes around the 22:22 mark when 50 Cent and Ebro discuss New York’s every chaning rap scene.

“You having you’re own style was very important in the very beginning,” 50 says of what’s lost in East Coat rap music. “New York artists say they ‘trappin’ out the bando,'” 50 tells HOT97. “From New York to New Jersey coming out with that content — it’s almost like you lost what hip-hop was in the very beginning.”

He went to express his opinions on young NYC rapper’s like the currently incarcerated Bobby Shmurda.

“Bobby Shmurda’s joint is a Chief Keef record to me. It sounds like drill music to me.”
