Future made music history earlier this year, becoming the first-ever musician in Billboard’s 61-year history to score back-to-back No. 1 albums in consecutive weeks. Now, the self-titled FUTURE LP is now certified platinum.

Continue after the jump….

On Thursday (Aug 10), the RIAA announced FUTURE reached the 1 million mark after being released back in February. The 17-track album is lead by the Metro Boomin-produced single “Mask Off,” which was also certified platinum last month. The record is Future’s highest-charting song to date, peaking at No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

FUTURE becomes the 5th certified platinum album of 2017, following Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide), Migos’ CULTURE, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. and JAY-Z’s 4:44.

The new platinum plaque is Future’s third, following 2015’s DS2 and the collaborative What a Time To Be Alive album with Drake.
