Funny and True….Kanye and Common with my girl Angie
Posted by Miss Info under Uncategorized[41] Comments

Today felt mad frenetic…there was bad stuff (like the rain that almost flooded my hooptie. and the weird explosion in midtown. and Michael Vick’s disgusting animal (torture) house, karma would be for them to throw him in jail and make him fight in a cell with an Adebisi lifer to see how it feels).
But there was good stuff too….like coming to work and hanging out with Common and Kanye and my girl Angie. Common and I literally grew up together in Chicago back in the days, and even though I didnt know Kanye back then, we’ve worked together for years now and so its Southside love all around.
But more importantly, big up to them and Angie for the dope interview.
Kanye addressed for the first time, the comments that Beanie Sigel made about his flamboyant fashion sense. (Beanie said that emulating Kanye and Pharell’s style wasnt “cool,” that in the hood, that type of dress was liable to get you “hurt,” and that Ye and P should just “come out the closet.”)
And finally, after Kanye’s shares his reaction to Beanie’s Beef 3 DVD preview diss, Kanye explains how he has overcome the hood mentality of homophobia….totally hilarious.
Earlier in the interview, Kanye also did a lil’ freestyle…”
Common and Kanye tell Ang about their working process, give album peeks, and what they’re favorite emcees are right now, and Kanye complains about Common’s XXL review (you didnt really think rappers dont read their own reviews, did you? lol)
More goodness from Angie and Common and Kanye…Kanye says that he thinks T-Pain is the most important artist in hip hop right now (?!?! hahaha)…Common drops gems on speaking in the language of the people. (very interesting quotes, esp in relation to the heated debate about 50 Cents comments about Nas in the preview post)

Is the fact that this interview is double speed a homage to Kanyeezy’s sampling techniques or is somebody’s encoder on the fritz =]

@lovehiphop…wow, very interesting question…that needs to be addressed in a whole diff post. ill work on that. but for now, id have to say that the pickin’s that Ive seen havent been too bountiful. There are def emcees that I think have talent. But mainstream, blow-up, crossover, superstar potential? still a work in progress perhaps. id like to hear your opinion tho….maybe add it on the previous post i did asking about the asian hip hop summit that I hosted last weekend.
Thanks for the q.

Isn’t that exactly why we love him and put him in his own separate category of Rappers We Love? This goes back to having to be placed in a mold, and I’m glad that Kanye doesn’t want any part of it. He’s inspired a lot of people to change up their style, and to wear what they feel like wearing. And this is what Hip-Hop is all about, taking something that wasn’t widely accepted and not giving a damn. So Kanye, you know we got LOVE for you, and damn Beans…don’t take out your frustrations on your not so glamorous career on Kanye.

I agree. What’s cool is having your own fashion sense. I first read about this at Global Grind’s MySpace page. You should check it out at myspace.com/theglobalgrind

Fuck Kayne and these faggot rappers out there fucking up the whole game. and to all of you dissin beans you are the reason why hiphop is dying. supporting these whack ass people. support real hip hop like joell ortiz people from the hood not these skate boarding faggots wearing backpacks and shit. I don’t know what hood you faggot live in but am from philly and we still keep it real hood. yes now a days everybody has thier own fashion but the fashion is still hiphop and not pop or skate boarding that shit does not role in the hood. you guys are supporting a rich black kid that never lived in the hood(kayne). Keep hip-hop alive and stop supporting these faggots making these wipe me down and party like a rockstar bring back that Big pun, BIG, Tupac,Old jay-z style of hip-hop. Kayne go suck a dick faggot don’t dare come to philly trying to diss beans pussy.

Ray you make no sense not being from the hood doens’t make you not hip hop thats stupid. That just makes you not hood. Then you gonna act like Kanye is making the same type of music as “Party Like a Rockstar” and “Wipe Me Down”. You probably gonna act like you don’t like all them tracks Kanye produced on Beanie’s albums.

@everyone…..so here’s the deal. Thanks to the geniuses over at wordpress, they have disabled my audio files because….they think I stole the audio. Obviously they’re not capable of understanding, that I actually work for the station that the audio comes from, and that I was there when it was recorded and that I did not record it off the radio. duh.
They also say that I cant post the Mos Def freestyle that I also got from work, which sponsored the whole damn show, and recorded it.
Any advice from my web-experts out there?
(sigh)

You could use zShare.com. It will allow you to upload files and then it will provide a link. Such as
http://www.zshare.net/audio/2817172320e6fc/
soulfever.mp3 – 3.86MB
And Ray’s comments are as dumb as you can get. Read a book…

I have a feeling that Common, Kanye, Pharoah e Monch, etc….those cats are over your head.

@Detroit
Thats your problem reading all those books is making you street stupid. and assuming I don’t have a education makes you and the other cat sound real dumb. I have a opinion on how hip hop is suppose to be and thats is I loved hip hop the way it was, before all these whack ass mc came out. common and mos def are great I have no problem with them they get recognise everywhere but in kayne case that nigga is fake and my opinion on people destroying hiphop there are a lot of great rappers like joell, beans, nas, fab and much more that are great and they come out with hot shit but never go gold. but than you have mims and or some other whack bubblegum rapper and goes gold or more. so if you don’t find something wrong with that than you are the one that is creating this bullshit we now call hip hop. Kayne to me is whack and to many other niggas this dude is a joke. and someone said if i felt the beats he made for beans all I have to say is nigga am not a female that likes a song for the beat. beans to me is a real nigga and his lyrics are fire. So you and the others can talk all the shit yall want but I know where I stand.

@ Ray…..
NEWSFLASH!!! the 90′S HAVE BEEN OVER FOR 8 YEARS…if u love that music from that era so much, go to ur cd collection and keep playing them joints till ur cd’s are scratched up. Times change, ppl change, music changes. It can’t stay the same. If it did we’d all still be wearing Jheri Curls and all rappers would sound like Kool Mo Dee. U may not like the way Hip Hop is now, but this could just be the music going thru some growing pains. In 5 years maybe Beans type of music will be popular again (yeeeeeeeeeeeeah riiiiiiiiiiiight). The point is Beans is a homo for airing his grievances over the net rather than calling Kanye up on the cell and telling him how he felt. Tell Beans stop f*cking with dat leak b4 doing all deez interviews. This guy gets high out his mind, says or does some dumb sh*t (almost kisses Pete Crack) and then wonder why he comes across like a washed up hater. Beans is a GREAT lyricist but he need to leave that leak leak alone.
