Footage of the NahRight/Onsmash “Better Recognize” CMJ Showcase

Jadakiss and Styles P: my favorite part of the show. They killed it!
The ill-fated OJ da Juiceman set…read Eskay’s take on the boo-birds here…and for the record, I heard “Make the Trap Say…” last night in the club, and yup, still liked it.
After the jump….more of the NahRight/Onsmash footage: Raspy Raekwon, Kidz in the Hall,
Raekwon’s performance made my throat hurt, lol. He was determined to not let the crowd down. Good peoples.
Kid Cudi was a surprise guest. Then he sat onstage. He was rockin’ with OJ, until he noticed the crowd wasn’t doing the same, lol.
Kidz in the Hall…2 very nice fellows.
Curren$y…I wasn’t in the venue until later, but heard great things about this set.
Donnis the Drunkard-Puncher ; )

I know this was a CMJ event but OJ was a bad choice to put on with the rest of these cats. Samething would’ve happened if Papoose did a show with OJ, Gucci, Plies, and Webbie.

Well I think the Oj thing is old news now.(Thank god)….but in regards to Eskay’s statement of being “proud of ourselves” let’s not act like Oj was the first person to ever be Boo’d . I’ve had friends Boo’d off stage @ the damn Apollo before even starting their performance.
It happens and if this crowd didn’t like it that’s their right. The earlier southern cats that performed had better more active sets and got love so it is what it is I guess.

i know info is vicious with replies to accusatory comments, but i have to say that you and eskay’s and the rest of the blogosphere’s insistence on saying that you “like” and “enjoy” OJ Da Juhhman and Gucci in the face of this incident is just a shame. I understand like.. if eskay and nr put on a concert they have to account for who performs, so he cant come out like “oh yea i dont fucks with OJ” but..
“I, for one, enjoyed the “Trap Say Aye” performance.”
C’mon son.
We were all reading when you guys had the “wtf fuck is this?” moments when this crap dropped, same as your readers did. That shit is hot to you info? really. So you really can’t wait for that new OJ to drop? You flood this blog with OJ interviews? no, with cam’ron and ghostface interviews, and thats why this fanbase loves you for it. And its that fanbase that was at that show, wanting to see Rae and Ghost and Jada and Styles… not OJ.. its just fact, dont let industry influence make you say otherwise..
if there was a concert down south with UGK, Ludacris, Scarface and the like, and then all of a sudden Webstar and Ron Browz came out and did “5000″, they would be like “..the fuck is this?” just like new york did.

come son, yourself. I like what the fuck I like. I don’t like webstar and ron browz music as much as I like OJ and Gucci stuff. (however, in the club, even webstar and ron browz songs are fun) And don’t tell me what I should think, or what I really think but I’m not saying.

“Here’s video of Gucci Mane’s welcome home from jail party from this past weekend….that guy is a superstar down in ATL, I dont really get it. But….”
“[Miss Info note: Mikey says OJ the Juiceman is the future GOAT of hip hop...he'll try to deny it but I know what I heard. Le Scandal!]”

cmon u even made fun of/laughed at mikey when he talked about liking OJ.. and dont even get me started on eskay’s regular lamenting of those dudes before it was PC to like them..
this isnt a baseless accusation for the sake of being a bitchy commenter behind a comp, its just the truth. and im saying OJ is to Classic New York audience as Webstar is to Classic Southern audience.. dont work, there was nothing else to expect but boos

yeah, I stand by that. I don’t get why Gucci is as trendy as he is now. But I like his hits. I like mainstream rap in many cases. Along with mainstream pop that would probably offend alot of “purists” ears. I’ve also devoted entire posts to OJ and my fascination with him. Don’t be selective for the sake of your argument. I’ve seen your comments alot, so I know you are well aware….I can respect that which I don’t agree with. I can like what I’m not “supposed” to. And I change my mood with the weather.
What I won’t accept on my blog is ppl telling me that I’m lying to myself or to you.

yea u got that and u know im a stan of yours, i just won’t accept seeing new york get chastised for doing something that deep down everyone knew was to be expected and was appropriate. we’ve been booing wack niggas for decades

i keep tryin to tell ppl, but they’re so hardheaded and wont accept the reality….it has nothing to do with New York. OJ went to a club the next night and got nothing but love. Its the audience. and you can’t force and audience to like something when they are hell bent (in fact their entire identity is based) on hating it.

neva really liked OJ that Ay stuff gets on my nerves, i think hes one of those south artists that people from the South dont like.

I can’t even front….I was at Club Home back in August at a Ron Browz party (smh @ that) for business, and DJ Self put OJ on and I swear to you. Grown ass NYer’s, people my age, younger and older were lettin’ off so many “Aye’s” it was crazy.
So even though I don’t know why. The guy definitely is getting love from certain crowds.

Why do people get so uptight about what other people enjoy? If you say “I enjoy this” it doesnt mean you have devoted all your listening time to it and have constructed a friggin shrine to the artist in your bedroom. Its just one more thing to enjoy amongst all the other stuff that comes out. People are really just pissed cos you arent totally devoted to one side of rap and have the gumption to actually give this mainstream stuff an airing cos its mainstream and has more of a marketing push behind it from the labels. People need to chill.

INFO do you.. but if this blog is supposed to be about rap gossip and what not why not post the only relevant video…………THE ONE WHERE HE GETS BOO-ED
oj adds energy to his placements and is trendy…..
but almost none of his songs stand on their own….and thats even on dope shawtty red neo electro beats. Gucci is a moron but he has a dope flow…out of his 300 crap songs about selling drugs killing blacks and wearing jewelry there are still a bunch i enjoy.
if you can name 5 oj songs that you like/regularly bump then do so and prove doubters wrong.
Gucci is weird enough that his originality overrides his banality
this is the song that convinced me gucci had talent:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXkjk3ARa1c
“i’m startin out my day wit a blunt o purp,
no pancake jus a cup a surp”
peace
