You know the real sad part about it Joe was on a real Presidental campaign to get people to buy this album with one song as your only real buzz about the album. Now I know what some people are going to say “Joe did that Independent” well I am going to let you know something even when you go independent you still have to do some type of numbers to get some real money and when your album flops that bad its hard to get another good independent deals that all these Artist are going after with Koch. I don’t know if you know this but “Elephant in the sand” was downloaded almost 3x more than “Elephant in the room” I know 50’s album was free but that shows what people really care about free dis mixtape or pay for a album that actually was ok. I’m Sorry but maybe its time for Joe to actually put out an album from one of his artist on “TS” I mean come on besides Remy who else on TS thats a Rapper that dropped an album …. I’ll wait!!!! The reason why “BEEF” doesn’t sell records anymore is because the bar has been raised too high.
20yrs ago KRS used beef to launch his career. Several other acts after him did the same thing to a large degree but then the natural happened. The effects of “RAP” beef got tired.
Enter Deathrow. Now you throw real LA Bloods in the mix and it got interesting again because that was a fresh dimension for beef connoisseurs. The prospect of REAL violence made beef viable once again. Next thing you know a top rapper catches a murder case (Snoop) and Pac is accused of shooting two cops and the fans are now hooked on a drug the average rapper can’t supply so BEEF coupled with REAL violence and REAL consequences became the main component behind Deathrow’s success but even that faded UNTIL… BEEF resulted in death. (Tupac) Now that was a tough act to follow UNTIL… BEEF resulted in a failed attempt on 50’s life and in the eyes of the consumer he was able to succeed where Pac failed. 50 survived the attempt on his life. Was shot 9x and was taking on a crew called Murder Inc aligned with a notorious NY gangster named Supreme. 50 was subliminally marketed as Pac reincarnated. His entire marketing strategy is a carbon copy of the Deathrow Tupac and the fans received it well.
The fans rooted for the underdog in this BEEF and catapulted him to superstardom all the while cheering as Supreme and Murder Inc went down for the count.NOW, the marketplace is hooked on REAL LIFE DRAMA packaged as RAP BEEF which is why these kind of stunts (Fat Joe, Uncle Murda etc.,) can never work again.
The bar has been raised too high or lowered too low depending on how you view it.
This is what Hip Hop has become people…

To all that said that 50 cent is a clown or is an internet thug I am hear to tell you Im from South Side Queens and I knew people that was from 50 error and I can assure you he and YaYo were doing the things they were talkin about. However I must agree with #14 the “Beef” bar has been set so high the fans are starting to question the truth to the beefs as if they know what they artist are trying to do before they do it. Look lets face it the general public is actually geting smarter. The average consumer knows more about the music game more than some of these rappers. I mean lets put it this way Music as a whole needs to raise the bar on the content that they put out.
Now on to Fat Joe, whats his problem is he hasn’t grown as an artist. People are tired of hearing him yell “crack, crack” all they time. I mean how many songs can a man tell you how much cocaine he sold or has. I mean I used to really listen to Fat Joe, but ever since pun died his music has really taken a hard hit. That last song that he did with Pun (Deep Cover remake) was the last time he actually had a flow that was sick now. Now I give it to joe he didn’t back down like Cam did and he stood his grown better than JaRule did but he is killing himself slowly. I mean its bad enough the BX don’t like him becuase of the fact No One but Remy has come out with an album from his team. Dont get me wrong 50 cent is guilty of the same things Joe was but he has something that joe doesn’t GROWTH OF A BUSINESS MAN. Think about it who else has come in the game this fast and made that much money. Nobody goes at 50 because they’re not built like that and he knows it. The only people he feared in the game was the Inc and they’re pretty much irrelevant now due to lack of funds and lack of desire. They don’t take him seriously and they can’t afford another tangle with the feds.
