There’s few co-signs more sought after than Kanye West’s, and Fetty Wap earned just that last week. The Paterson, NJ native saw his stock rise when he was summoned by Yeezy himself to perform his buzzing single “Trap Queen” — Kanye’s “favorite song right now” — at the Roc City Classic concert in NYC.

Sitting down with DJ Booth TV, Fetty talked about about meeting Kanye West for the first time, hanging out with the G.O.O.D. Music crew, getting his own pair of Yeezy 750 Boosts and how his surprise performance at the Roc City Classic came about.

That was a surprise for me… After [the fashion show] I thought I was on my way home. We were driving through New York and we pulled up at the back with all these trucks and shit. So we got out the truck and it was like, “yo, come on, you’re gonna perform at the Roc City with Kanye.” And I was like, “get the fuck outta here! Oh word? Aiight, let’s get it!”
