Exclusive: Jay-Z at the DJ Hero/Myspace show, “The best way to silence all critics…” (plus Hov on Letterman)

Tonite, the good folks at Activision and Myspace put together a last minute Jay-Z concert to celebrate Blueprint 3 and the upcoming DJ Hero videogame. Fans lined up in front of the Blender Theater on Tuesday night and waited ’til morning to snag free passes to the intimate show…
Hov brought out a full band, DJ Neil Armstrong, and his trusty hypeman Memph Bleek to run through both new songs, like “Run This Town,” “Hate,” etc…and the classics, like “99 Problems,” and “Encore,” and more.
In the above clip, Jay performs “Death of Autotune,” with extra emphasis on the last line, lol, and then the crowd starts chanting “F–k T-Pain,” to which Jay replied, “Y’all ready for that Blueprint 3? I just figure that’s the best way to silence all critics, just keep hitting with s–t like this…”
(Thanks to Aaron from Activision)
(lol @ Jay saying “Oh, y’all got the bootleg,” during “Hate”)
BONUS: earlier in the day, Jay-Z sat down with David Letterman…and was positively chipper.

Bill Maher yea, but the letterman interview was dry to me. All they did was dance around each others questions

Ms. Info
This might be a starnge question, all hip-hop news aside, i would really like to see your view on the political side of things (Obama, Health Care, s###t like that). I realize that this is a music focused site, but i would love to see your views oon these issues…like the speech lastnite?
By the way….OBFQL2, the hottest album since 2004, easily!

Pac was a ignorant imbecile who tried to live up to his gangster persona, and got killed because of it.I can say with all honesty that it no real loss that Pac is not here. For all the ridiculous talk of Jay selling his soul, Pac was the first rapper I knew who went from somewhat of a conscious rapper to gangster rapper in the span of a few years. It’s hard to believe the same dude who was doing back up dancing for Digital Underground in “Nothing But Trouble” with the high top faded and the stripe polo shirt with the triple X baggy jeans is the thug life, bandanna wearing, gangster of deathrow talking about killing any and everybody.Pac was killed because of his own stupid and volatile action, so in the end, he was the cause of his own downfall. Why would anyone want someone like that around is puzzling to say the least.

Jay was in the same mode as he was a year or two ago on that euro show he was on….(not westwood, you know the one..)
and two guys not wanting to talk about their personal life equally, letterman gets the thumbs up from me always
the other funny thing about that clip is, i dont think letterman expected jay to be nearly as comical/witty as he was. between the segway line, the synthesis line, etc…i think he figured he’d be able to auto-through the interview
annnd jay z haters are startin to sound like clowns..its like hating jordan..i grew up watching the dude kill the knicks night in and night out, and still..cant do it..
