(pic taken a year ago in Atlanta at the “Spotlight” video shoot)
A few weeks ago, I caught up with Gucci and sat down to talk to him about the tension and truce with Waka Flocka and Mama Flocka, his son (which he rarely discusses), and…whether there’s anything in the past few years that he would change if he had to do it all again.
Just like our last epic sit-down interview, it was another interesting chat, mainly because I’m always surprised how the Gucci on record, and the Gucci in person are so different. And from what I’ve been told, Gucci will actually have our interview as part of the special iTunes packaging of The Appeal. I appreciate that, Guch! (And thank you as always to Todd Moscowitz and Joeyie, Shari B, Denise W., and Coach K. Also, congrats to Todd on being named CEO of WarnerBros!)
One of the more unexpected combos on this album is that of Gucci, Pharrell and Nicki Minaj…and Gucci talked incessantly about how happy he was to mix it up with new producers like P, Clef and Swizz, in the way that any music fan would be. So here’s an exclusive listen at the song they did….
Exclusive: Gucci Mane feat. Nicki Minaj & Pharrell “Haterade”
