I love this! The combination of Diplo and Lil Jon is already cause for triple fist-pump, but then add on these gloriously cheesy graphics…. and you’ve got Street Fighter-meets-Pants Off Dance Off to the sounds of classic Diplo dubstep and Lil Jon shoutrap.

I especially love the fact that the animation looks like they hired the Chinese news team behind the Tiger Woods Sex Scandal Re-Inactment. And the dancing baby?! Masterful touch! (note: The animation was actually done by Taiwanese team, NMA) Between this and Diplo’s Major Lazer “Daggering for Dummies” video…I’m stanning. (Thank you so much to Dana/Biz3 for the debut! And Legend/OS too)

This is the official first single off the upcoming Blow Your Head Vol 1: Diplo presents DUBSTEP compilation album! (Buy “You Don’t Like Me” on iTunes or vinyl) Yass!

More details on the project and the video,
after the jump

From the press release for “You Don’t Like Me”:

Diplo, the reputed international man of taste, has tapped Taiwanese production house NMA to create the video for his single, “U Don’t Like Me” featuring ubiquitous media personality and rapper Lil Jon. NMA, who was responsible for the animated news reenactments of the Tiger Woods fiasco and other public debacles put together an appropriately out-there clip that neatly summarizes the spastic vibe of the song. The aesthetic heavily references popular video games from the early aughts, placing our protagonists squarely in a bizarre yet no less entertaining context. The unlikely collaboration takes shape visually in a myriad of different settings, the two producers facing off in a gun battle, break dance fighting, racing cars and under-water final round. Even the animated dancing baby makes a rare cameo appearance!

The track finds legendary hype man/ musician Lil’ Jon lending his signature howls to one of Diplo’s heaviest audio offerings to date, a plodding half-time jam mired in low-end. Featured on the Blow Your Head Vol 1: Diplo presents DUBSTEP compilation as a remix by Datsik, the “U Don’t Like Me” picture disc vinyl release (limited to 1000 pieces) includes the original track along with a remix by the boundary-pushing dance production duo South Rakkas Crew.

PS: if you haven’t seen this Blackberry Torch ad featuring Diplo….my sister’s sole reaction was: “rawr.” LOL!
