Earlier this year, Richard Russell, founder of the respected London label XL Recordings, released his debut EP Close But Not Quite featuring appearances from the likes of Sampha, Giggs and Warren Ellis. Today Russell extends his output under the name Everything Is Recorded and drops his biggest collaboration yet in the form of “Mountains of Gold,” which brings together London crooner Sampha, New York rapper Wiki, jazz maestro Kamasi Washington and French-Cuban duo Ibeyi. Better yet, the song is anchored by a sample of Grace Jones’ “Nightclubbing,” which rap fans will probably recognize from Shyne’s “Bad Boyz.”
