Erykah Badu is set to release her mixtape, But You Cain’t Use My Phone, sometime next week during Thanksgiving weekend. Before the full project arrives, the soulful singer appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night, sitting in with her long-time friends The Roots. During the show, Badu performed various tracks including the song “Phone Down,” off the mixtape.

“I’m in love with this mixtape, it feels good. I think it’s a whole new frequency for the planet and I just wanted to do it because it’s inspiring me to write my new album—it’s kind of like the buffer in between,” said Badu in a recent interview.
