They gave us the 2011 chart-topping hit “Love the Way You Lie,” now Eminem and Rihanna join forces for a fourth time on “The Monster.” Serving as the new single off The Marshall Mathers LP 2, the rap titan battles past demons over the production of Frequency. Rihanna comes through with a powerful hook, as Albanian singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha adds background vocals to the emotional cut she co-wrote back in late 2012.
Arriving November 5, Eminem’s eighth solo album features appearances from Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Sia, Skylar Grey, Nate Ruess of Fun., and Jamie N Commons. It includes the songs “Berzerk,” “Survival,” and the lyrical “Rap God.” The Detroit MC is set to appear on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, his sixth appearance and first since 2010.

Radio friendly song so it is what is, easy no1. Bit of a meh track but I’m not mad if I hear this on rotation compared to some of the other shit that gets regular play. I’m confident(-ish) there’ll be plenty of “non-radio” album cuts on MMLP2..

open letter to Em
You are without doubt one of the best to do it but you will never get the respect you should deserve making music like this.
It doesnt matter if you outsell every black hiphop artist 10x over…being that, this is and will always be primarily a black culture music, with songs like this, you will always be the white boy(elvis) who took black music and sold it to white ppl the way a black artist could never do.
If you want that respect in HIPHOP(and i know you do), go make a real hiphop album. An entire album,str8 rap, no singing,no strings,no rock guitars, dont even get beats from dre, go get beats from pp like Premier, Alchemist etc no features from wack pop artists, get collabs with great mcs like yourself
do that and you will never have to rhyme about why ppl dont give your props ever again.
until you make that album, i will say “renegade” is the best work you ever did IMO

LOL at the comments of people thinking they know what “real” hip hop is.

If I have to listen to this 5 times a day on the radio I will stick screw drivers in my ear drums. Call it what it is strait garbage! And yes Em does deserve harsher criticism cause he has been killing it for years, why stop now?

probably the best “song” off the new material i’ve heard. melody sticks and hook is instantly sing-along material. rihanna’s always money as well, this 1’s a hit globally IMO.

lol when pusha-T makes an album, without radio tracks and just sells 75 in his first week, people start laughing at those numbers and start talking about how he failed.
When a rapper like Eminem in this case does the opposite to generate sales, people start complaining about the pop-rap single.
If he doesnt rap enough its like “omg he fell off he is white elvis a pop singer”
If he raps for 6 minutes straight like on “Rap God” you talk about how he raps too fast and about crap. Without even checking the lyrics.
8 out of 10 people on the internet (this site included) have no idea what the fuck they are talking about when they refer to Hip Hop/Rap….

You can think its wack all day long, but if you understand the business side this song will be on your top 40 stations all day long, and making the Caucasian and female buyers of music purchase it. Trust he will have plenty of songs for us who know he is one of the best to ever do it.
