It’s already been a crazy summer so far for blockbuster tours and big-name festivals (don’t forget: Lil Wayne and Drake’s tour gets underway tonight), but Eminem and Rihanna brought some mega stardom to the madness as they kicked off their Monster tour last night. Selling out the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, the powerhouse pair treated the 90,000-plus crowd to a spectacular show which ran for almost three hours.
Following a Silence of the Lambs-style intro, Rihanna kickstarted the concert with “Numb,” before Eminem joined her on stage mid-song to perform his verse. The duo delivered individual sets, but according to Billboard, there was plenty of interaction throughout the night as they dueted for hits like “Love The Way You Lie,” “Stan” and “The Monster,” which brought the show to an epic finish.
Eminem and Rihanna will be packing the Rose Bowl once again tonight before taking over New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on August 16-17, followed by Detroit’s Comerica Park on August 22-23.
