still like this song. haven’t really listened to it that much since it first came out. but this video is visually cool….and creepy.
I know this is unrelated but on Onsmash I also noticed a teaser for the new Lady Gaga “Alejandro” video which I never saw before (nice bowl haircut, lol)…so that’s posted after the jump

this is the kind of eminem track that i can play over and over again and never get bored of. there were only 2 tracks on his relapse that made me feel like that. i hope there are more tracks like this on his recovery ablum so it feels like the old days!!

What old days do you speak of?
Because the Em I love and most of his fans love is the one from the SSLP/MMLP/TES days.
“Not Afraid” and that new disaster with Pink is not “old Eminem”.
Where are the insane multis, the wordplay, the crazy stories, the shit that makes you listen to it over and over again just to see if you can catch something new. The type of shit that makes you want to memorize lyrics! Haha.
“Sick sick dreams of picnic scenes, two kids, sixteen
with M-16’s and ten clips each
And them shits reach through six kids each
And Slim gets blamed in Bill Clint’s speech to fix these streets?”
This is the type of stuff I’m talking about. THAT was classic Em!
Not this new sing-songy bullshit. I don’t think I’m alone when I say Em was definitely more interesting/better as a rapper when he was on the drugs. At this point in his career, he might as well quit rap and just produce.

I dont think we can be critical of anymore “singy songy bullshit” when the best two rappers out now Drake and Lil Wayne not only do it but does it with auto tune and Drake flat out sings on his shit….
I like Drakes album but it seriously reminds me of a male version of Lauren Hills album with less substance!! Thats just what it is..
Back to Em—Well he’s at a point of redefinition right now trying to find his voice that will carry him 4 more albums and 15 more years of touring and to be honest I’d rather hear him spit real world, deep shit about his life then listen to another made up story about the made up life of that uncle Tom Jay-Z,I’m done with his subliminal faggoty shit!! So Em just needs to find that stride relate to the current age of his fans and their issues because we’ve all grown out of the my bum is on your lips stage and are dealing with real world shit he needs that with a few BIG PRODUCTION TOUR records and he good.. Once he does that he’s fine the fans just need to bare with him a little but that doesnt mean we have to say shit aint that good when its not that good..He needs to hear that more now then ever before..
This shit is not as good as the “old em” in any form and I know he on this growing up rehab drug free school zone shit but I want to hear a Superman 2 or Drug Ballad 2 out of him with some cool twist and funny stores and crazy rhymes thats when I will know he found his stride… He took too much time off and just isn’t connecting with tracks like he once did, its rust that will go away with tracks good or bad hitting the public every day… The more tracks he do the better..Imagine Kobe or Jordan taking 6yrs off and then just walking on the court expecting to be what they were when they left? NO POSSIBLE and a foolish expectation, even for a rapper!! So Em isnt there yet but after being in the studio with guys like Joe Budden and Crooked I and gys like T.I. and Wayne by next summer he will be back kicking ass on the mic so long as he keeps working….
So dont expect Andre 3000 to return the same as when he left either!!

@J

I think tayla is talking about how Eminem is more captivating with his writing and subject matter. His lyrical skill here and in other recent tracks he’s appeared on are better than almost anything on Encore or Relapse.
Lets face it, his last 2 albums have had mostly watered-down versions of his twisted humor, so it came across as weak toilet humor and gay jokes.
Em’s gotten a lil older, and he’s showing that wisdom and introspection that many of us felt would eventually come from him.

“haven’t really listened to it that much since it first came out.”
thats pretty much every eminem song lately his lost his spark

J,
I have to agree. I don’t hate on him because he got sober. Certainly, it seems that his drug use was literally killing him. However, his music post-addiction up to this point has been lackluster at best. This video is eh and the song it accompanies is less than eh.
It’s kind of like fans of Mary J Blige. I don’t wish her any ill but Mary’s music was so much better when she was depressed.
In any case, I have to disagree on the Em ft. Pink song. I actually like that one.
But to each his own.

Exactly! Everyone should go and listen to 8 mile then listen to any of this new stuff and you will see which is better.
And side note what’s up with dre he’s not making beats, what is this junk he is rapping over? sounds like something everyone already used.

Not only EM is the rapper needing recovery nowadays. If some people can allude “Drake and em Nicki Minaj” as their best rappers, then hip hop is in deep sh#t. Those set of people won’t even be attuned to anything coming from real rapper’s cakehole no more. Who ever thought 50’s alb would flop, Em’s album isn’t gonna do spectacular but will alright. Jigga seems to be tha only one still surviving this negative evolution. dudes like WALE, VADO has a nice future if they keep the pace tho.

Ion think Em should hang it up, simply because him at his wackest is better than 98% of the game at their best. I do miss shit like “my rap style is warped, Im running out the morgue with your dead grandmothers corpse to throw it on your porch” Ha (im still not over that visual). I think that type of shit comes from tryna prove how ill you are and I dont think he tries that anymore. Hes just having fun now or being a self-help guru. Which makes sense in his life but in the life of a fan of what he used to do knowing no one else can (possibly not even him) is just… disapppointing.

what u believe in shapeshifters? SMH. Visit infowars.com leave that shapeshifter nonsense alone
June 6th, 2010 at 4:24 pm
I co-sign that to the fullest. I miss the old Eminem with his sick lyrics. I must say I’m dissapointed by Eminem’s music in the last 4 years. In my oppinion his last good song was when i’m gone.
And what’s with that strange mexican accent? Since Ass like that he does it in almost every song. Bullshit if you ask me

hmmmmmmmm…….

Stating an opinion with references to back it up is not called “hating”. I never said Em wasn’t talented lyrically. As someone mentioned, him at his weakest is still better than 98% of the rappers out.

Not sure if yall listened to the album , but Em is spittin , I mean Spittin. and Yes IM from SSLP days , nah F that from When Bonnie and Clyde was on a mixtape before we knew Em was White days.

I love the serious Em who raps about his life. His intense and meaningful raps are the ones I want to analyze and memorize. When he gets deep into his music and makes you think about what he’s saying is what I like. I get sick of that stupid accent shit and “pee pee” songs. Rap about you em; rap about you and your life because you have something to say and I want to hear it. Keep growing and best of luck.
