Run DMC gets inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame with Eminem’s help

As I noted on Twitter last night…..I was glued to the TV watching this last night. Not only was Eminem’s speech incredible (and wow @ the shout to 50 Cent that he included)….but the speeches from Run, especially DMC, and JMJ’s mom and wife….great moment.
(do you still think they should have performed as many of the other inductees did?)

History.In the midst of so much “hip hop” related nonsense there are moments like this that remind me why I live this culture as much now as a 28 yr old as I did as a 15 yr old.

Em regardless is top 5 EVER. By top 5 I mean ALL like 1a, 1b, 1c, etc..
He clearly does his homework when it comes to rap and he is hip hop. Great speach, congrats to Run Dmc.. The 50cent part was a good add I think too really show how JMJ had such a big influence past/present with his own career and in teaching one of the biggest artists of this decade. It just further makes the group and the late JMJ Legendary.

I don’t think they should’ve performed. Getting there was their collective accomplishment. I think Jay’s absence would’ve been very distracting and brought everything down just a little

The Curtis Jackson we see if different then the one people close to him see…
Fifty Cent has an image…and a lot of people are stupid to that fact..

@ rhe….yes the mention of curtis jackson was necessary bcuz i believe that jam master jay’s family is proud that he is partly responsible for one of the biggest hip hop artist of today…stop being a hater
I thought all the speeches were very nice and it was so wonderful to see his mom, wife and sons there….and his wife is very beautiful
I thought Eminem did a magnificent job

Wow ,i almost cried watchin’ this, RUN-DMC are such a huge part of my life -every time they came to Philly (Fresh Fest, Raising Hell tour) i was there. I really dig seein’ young kids rockin’ Run-Dmc t-shirts now,even if it’s just a trend maybe it’ll make them check the music out.

Well said well spoken. Jam Master Jay’s Mom is incredible, I have the utmost respect for that lady.
Say what you want to say about Eminem but this dude just like Run DMC deserve to be in the Rock N’ Roll Hall of fame so does Eminem deserve to be in the Hip-hop Hall of fame. He added to the culture a different twist and broke down racial barriers to those smart enough to appreciate hip-hop as an art form.
Shout to 50. This dude always has people who want to see him fall but he keep going. The world needs more people who ain’t scared to be themselves and less haters.

ill save my issue with Rev Run for a later time…. about him not wanting to do Run DMC shows any longer but performs Run DMC songs with Kid Rock with no issue!

I have mad respect for all of them. They are all legends in my book and rightfully deserve a place in there. Beautiful speech, brought a tear to my eye, the essence of hip hop is there, its the struggle , the fight, when your down you keep going, you dont give up , Run DMC kept through it all.
