Eminem shed light on his drug addiction on 2009’s Relapse, but his problems ran much deeper. In a revealing snippet from a documentary entitled How To Make Money Selling Drugs, Slim Shady opens up about how his drug problem almost sent him to an early grave. The Detroit rapper recalls how easily he became hooked on pain relievers like Vicodin and Xanax, and the serious side-effects of this addiction. Not being able to sleep for three straight weeks wasn’t even the worst of it:
Had I got to the hospital about two hours later, I would have died. My organs were shutting down, my livers, my kidney, everything. They were gonna have to put me on dialysis, they didn’t think I was gonna make it. My bottom was gonna be death.
Directed by Matthew Cooke, How To Make Money Selling Drugs was released on April 25 and also features insight from 50 Cent, Russell Simmons and Freeway Ricky Ross.
