(RR: Can you clear up the Bruno stunt at the MTV Awards? Was it staged or planned?)
Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards. I’m a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag.
(RR: Was it executed the way you agreed to, and if not, do you hold MTV or Sacha responsible and will you take any kind of action?)
I’m thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it. It had so many people going “nuts” so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it.
(RR: After you left the ceremony, where did you go?)
After the ceremony I went back to my hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about 3 hours. Especially after I saw it on air.

(RR: There is a report today that your hotel room was robbed and thieves got 60K and your laptop while you were at ceremony. Is that true and if so what would someone find on your computer?)
The only thing was that I lost a Nike watch that we were looking for. The rest it is made-up like half the other stuff out there.

I didn’t realize that the music industry was suffering so bad that ideas like this one seemed reasonable for a rapper (not a rookie mind you). Part of me hopes/wishes that the real story isn’t as cut and dry as it seems, otherwise, who knows how far this publicity whorish rabbit hole will go. Maybe the better question is who’s next?

What you guys don’t get is the genius of this stunt. Ever heard “no such thing as bad publicity.” Look how much press this has gotten. Now everyone knows who Bruno is and even more people are talking about Eminem. Coincidence his album is still #1. These guys are true geniuses.

Perhaps as a movie stunt this can equal some dollars.But how did it serve to better Em?But I always hear the same lines/reasoning so can anyone tell me what rappers or musical artists in general have sold more due to “embarrassing” publicity stunts?
Every time a nude pic leaks, a sex tape comes out or an altercation happens folk say they did it for Pub and Marketing. Do people think the consumers are that gullible? How does this result in sales?

That stunt was tasteless and it mad your rep very uncomfortable. In the future if such stunts are planned, it would help ease a lot of tension if your pr people could be in on it too.
