Drama Pending: Beanie Sigel and 50 Cent collabo on the way

Ok, seatbelts on, kids. Along with this interesting Gucci Mane song “My Own Worst Enemy” talking about Young Jeezy, T.I., Tiny and more….we’re also getting a new song by Beanie Sigel featuring 50 Cent (his semi-silent corroborator, lol) called “I Go Off.” The two teamed up after Beanie stopped by Fif’s offices for a visit last week.
Now obviously, those G-unit boys are building up the anticipation, but will there be “actual” “aggressive content” towards Jay-Z? If it comes from Beanie, no big whoop. But will Fif go there too? I’m honestly not sure. So I’m not going to assume there is.
But what I do know is that I’m gonna try my best to give you guys an answer on Thursday the 12th ; )

I think it’s a marketing ploy and I’ve heard it! There’s ZERO creativity on there.. just a chain of verses on the same beat where super gangsta pretends like he’s shooting any and everyone on his way to Macy’s for his perfume unveiling. 50 himself said that he HAD TO do the “Baby By Me” record to make the label feel comfortable getting behind it. It was supposed to come out OVER A YEAR ago! Does anybody remember “Get Up”?? Trash. AND it leaked in it’s entirety a MONTH before the release date! I would be nervous if I was him too!!
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think it’s gonna flop.. can’t deny, the boy is an international superstar. But I can understand his frustration. Everything is riding on BISD. Anyway, what’s flopping for 50 Cent anyway?? That’s the question..

Because he’s only interested in him now, because there’s beef. Yes Beanie Sigel is a good rapper but he hasn’t really been hot in years not since that first album all other follow ups resulted in mediocre buzz and therefore mediocre sales if not sub par really. So no fif is not genuinely interested in anything Beanie Sigel is doing today, he might have been in like 2003 when Sigel was still kinda hot, but today he’s only interested because of the beef because. Beef keeps 50-cent in the magazines and on the blogs and it all equals free promo for is up coming album. Like Flex said 50-Cent is the master of turning beef into sales.
Besides isn’t Bean Sigel still signed to Jay no one said Jay has to ever really let Beanie out of his contract. I don’t know how many albums he still owes Roc-A-fella. Hov can technically simply shelve Sigel for the rest of his recording life if he wanted too, which is one of the reasons I didn’t see the point of dissing the man that controls your future on a record but that’s another issue. Or he can do what 50-Cent is doing with Game and allow him to record where ever he wants but keep Beans under contract which means Jay would still be making money from every sale even if he did work with G-Unit. It’s funny how Jay-Z gets all the bad guy flack for not releasing Beanie Sigel and 50-Cent looks like the night in shinning armor, when 50-Cent essentially is doing the same exact thing to Game, keeping him under contract like a recording artist slave against his will. But that’s just smart business because 50-Cent did it right but Jay he’s just a fucked up dude. LIsten this is how the industry works it’s been going on like this since Little Richard to mo-town to Ray Charles and The LOX and now Beanie Sigel when artist are careless with there careers artist get jerked by labels this is how it goes.

I actually get a slight headache when i hear fif dissing another artist , the whole hip-hop beef thing is not competition its a popularity contest , because its not about rhymes or punchlines or even about getting good music anymore. Its some crab in the barrel type shit, where people try to destroy each others success, while hurting their own in the process. I dont know what evil possesses fif i wonder if he understands that he has bore the brunt of the bad publicity associated with beefing/dissing artists/people , from almost 10 times platinum (u.s numbers) to 1.39mil (u.s: source: hits daily double) between 2003 and 2007 thats almost 85 percent drop in 4 years even though the curtis vs graduation thing was the biggest promo in hip-hop history. i dont live in new york or the united states for that matter so my view may be much different than people here on this site, but for a lot of people i know, the last thing they heard from fif was in 2007, some are barely aware of the rick ross beef or who rick ross is, for that matter but in anycase for them, the jay-z vs 50 thing is just a reminder of what happened with kanye and not a reminder of why they liked 50cent and his music in the first place. The theatrics in hip-hop especially with the incorportation of the internet into genre has made for some hilarious antics and good entertainment, but now more than ever what we need is good music.I know that before i self destruct has some great tracks, but as opposed to the promotion for bp3 , this campaign has been about a lot of things that have nothing to do with the music, including his book his new cologne, beanie sigel ,triple c’s, rick ross, jay-z the screening of his movie, rumors of him and kelly rowland and or tahiry etc etc. I dont care if you’re a jay-z fan or not , but if i was jay i would ask myself what is the upshot of going back and forth with beans and fif? personally if i was put in his shoes other than maybe a 1 time response , there is none. Ive heard some great snippets of songs that got cut from b4isd and i know fif has it in him to make classic music and be a respected new york hip-hop legend , but the path he has chosen with all this negative controversy really destroys the chances of that happening. This is the music industry its about enjoying the music, i just wish it could always be the focus.

Listen Jay-Z is much better lyrically than Fif any day! I dont care if he has Dre or Em. The bottom line is that their are only two people who can have the flow or punch line’s for Jay-Z and Thats Jada Kiss and Nas; For right now those two individuals have no problem with Jay. For all you Fif fans, he was in the game long before Dre and Em. He did nothing! So you fall in Love w/ him for taking JaRule style and supported him. He only have success when he promoting beef; really Fif fans do you really thank he can take Jay. Let’s be real here. Jay is a very smart business man who if you are true HipHop fan you would look at the greats from yesterday and look how Jay stacks up. I dont see Fif being place in the top ten rappers ever.

Why is 50’s new album(Jay’s Album too) and the word “classic” being used in the same sentence? Didn’t it just drop? We can’t call anything classic until you see/feel/witness the impact it has on the game.Give it time. Do we really have to rush everything?
“Classic” has just become another watered down word that now gets used in the same context as “good.”
