drake spotify 2015

Two number one albums, a platinum plaque and a unanimous victory over Meek Mill; it’s fair to say 2015’s been a hell of a year for Drake. Today Spotify just added another trophy to Aubrey’s crammed cabinet by naming him the most streamed artist of 2015 thanks to 1.8 billion streams and 46 million listeners.

Drake also comes in as the Top Global Artist, Top Male Global Artist and Top Artist in the U.S. He almost topped a handful of other categories, too: If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late was the second most streamed album globally (behind The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind The Madness), while “Hotline Bling” was pipped by Alessia Cara’s “Here” as the biggest viral track in the States.

If her record breaking first-week sales are anything to go by, we’ve got a sneaky suspicion Adele would have made a late push on these lists, too (if she hadn’t have played keep away with her new album, of course).
