With controversy swirling leading up to Drake’s “Would You Like A Tour?” fall trek, the opening show went on without a hitch on Friday night. Kicking off at Pittburgh’s Consol Energy Center, the Canadian superstar gave attendees and electric show highlighted by a new set featuring an elevated oval-shaped stage and gigantic HD screen. The concert kicked off with openers PARTYNEXTDOOR, Miguel, and the recently re-added Future.

Drake’s set was full of high energy, blasting through cuts off is Nothing Was the Same LP including “Tuscan Leather,” “Wu-Tang Forever,” “Own It,” “Pound Cake,” and more. The loudest screams from the evening were saved for Wiz Khalifa, who made a surprise appearance to perform the song “Black & Yellow.” Jhené Aiko later joined Drizzy to perform the cuts “From Time” and “Too Much” for the first time ever. Putting their recent discrepancies aside, Future returned on stage during Drake’s set for a medley of his own songs including “Turn on the Lights,” “Same Damn Time,” “Love Me,” and his latest single “Honest.”

During “305 to My City,” the Toronto-native elevated above the sold-out crowd on a circular stage extension which rose high to the rafters. He closed with a medley of songs off his No. 1 album in “Worst Behaviour,” “The Language,” “All Me,” and ended the magical night with “Started From the Bottom.”
