BlackBerry may have pulled a proverbial muscle and subsequently watched themselves get lapped by the likes of Apple and Samsung in the smartphone race, but the aging giants are looking to close the distance with the help of a certain superstar rapper.

According to Tech Crunch, the company are in talks with Drake to help promote their upcoming BlackBerry Classic smartphone — a described as a “kind of a mashup of the current BlackBerry Q10 and the Bold 9900” — which is set to hit the market in November.

The partnership isn’t as contrived as you might think, though. Drizzy once claimed that he wrote all his raps on his BlackBerry. Granted that was four years ago, but it looks like he’s remained a dedicated customer having been spotted using (read: sexting off) the 9900.

Plus, BlackBerry is a Canadian company, and Drake has always rooted for the home team (well, most of the time).
