Comments Off on Watch the Trailer For ‘Dope,’ Starring A$AP Rocky, Zoë Kravitz & Blake Anderson
With his charm, charisma and good looks, it was only a matter of time before we’d be seeing A$AP Rocky on the big screen. Thanks to the fittingly titled Dope, which is set to premiere at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival this week, Pretty Flacko has earned his start in the acting world.
Directed by Rick Famuyiwa (The Wood, Brown Sugar), Dope is described as a coming-of-age comedy/drama for the “post hip hop generation,” and also stars Zoë Kravitz (who has just wrapped up another movie with Kid Cudi), Shameik Moore, Blake Anderson and Forest Whitaker, who co-produced the movie alongside Diddy and Pharrell.
Tyga, Casey Veggies, Vince Staples and Rocky’s ex-girlfriend Chanel Iman also appear in the film, while Pharrell contributes three original songs to the soundtrack.

UPDATE #2 (4/17): A third trailer has been released featuring actual scenes with A$AP Rocky, Vince Staples, Chanel Iman and more.

Plot summary via IMDB:
A coming of age comedy/drama for the post hip hop generation. Malcolm is a geek, carefully surviving life in The Bottoms, a tough neighborhood in Inglewood, CA filled gangsters and drugs dealers, while juggling his senior year of college applications, interviews and the SAT. His dream is to attend Harvard. A chance invitation to a big underground party leads Malcolm and his friends into a, only in Los Angeles, gritty adventure filed with offbeat characters and bad choices. If Malcolm can persevere, he’ll go from being a geek, to being dope, to ultimately being himself.
