Dont Believe (the Denials of) the Hype: G-unit Clothing is in fact shutting down

Last night I got an inside tip from a very savvy source, that Ecko Unlimited had been quietly dismantling the staff at G-unit Clothing. Apparently, the last day of work for the entire staff will be Friday. There has been a definite decline in the “hip hop” sportswear business in the past few years, but according to a report on the Dr. Jay’s website, sales of 50’s urban line has been strong at their stores.
There have been reports of denials, but I got confirmation from sources close to 50 Cent, that yes, the partnership between 50 and Ecko is a wrap. 50 will allegedly walk away with full ownership of the brand, and will most likely relaunch with another manufacturer. But the real issue here is….was this split (mis)handled? Was it a mutual decision? Or were some moves made without advanced notice? Well, if it didn’t go down nice nice, then I’m sure 50 will likely make that very clear ; )
So what happens to that fancy new G-unit clothing office/showroom?
PS: Eskay has the audio of 50 telling Kay Slay that the reason Buck wasn’t on the new G-unit mixtape and on his European tour is because of “scheduling conflicts.” Lol. Uhh…..so, Buck’s calendar is so packed he couldn’t make it? He was too busy hanging out backstage at Weezy shows?

that dude mark ecko is always on some shit.so fuck him.the brand will move else where and start of fresh.
as for your last statement info-there was obviously a little riff between buck and 50 but its cleared now.history has shown us that if 50 wanted to diss someone he wouldnt waste time he would do it the next day and if he wanted to shit on him he would’ve already done it in one of those whoo kid shows where people go to shit.feel me?

The other day I was in Jamaica Queens and they were selling Ecko stuff in some big warehouse and they said ffom 3pm to 4pm everything was five dollar. I thought it was strange – there was some G unit things and everything was brand new – it’slike they just wanted to get rid of the stuff. I grabbed some stuff where the logo’s were not to big – came away with a nice stash

This is nothing new, I heard shit a few weeks ago that he was gonna split with Ecko and go somewhere else. And about the Buck shit, for you info Miss Info, Buck has been doing his Cashville Records label shit for a while, which is why I believe why he stayed back, all he been talking about is how he is doing this label, the comp album with C Bo, Outlawz, his crew 615 will drop Product Of The South, not the Whoo Kid mixtape, its his comp album on April 1, so he is getting videos ready and doing that, so that could be what the scheduleing conflict was, now maybe its more, but I do think Buck cant do 3 months on tour with 50, when its 50’s tour, it wasnt a G Unit tour, so he cant handle his shit overseas, so yeah that would be what he is doing, so it aint like he aint doing shit like you put it, yeah he may show up at some shows when Wayne wss in his state, but he is doing something.

I wear those G unit clothes in fact i just bought some pants from macys the other day im supporting Fif whereever he go with the line if its fly and hot im rocking it my fit game is crazy so i can do what i want and ive always respected the fact there pants was really made for the hustler and reasonably priced thats real shit.Plus im from southside so im G unit to the core of the fabric.I fucks with all things G unit hands down.

Marc Ecko in my opinion is a racist. Period. What that’s got to do with 50 and his clothing line? Who knows.. But the Barry Bonds is the home run king. Period. And I am still upset about Ecko disrespecting him and what he did with the ball he bought online. Don’t make money off the black people and dis our icons…

Well I’m a long time supporter and wearer of Ecko Clothing but I was never real big on the G-unit line of clothing. I guess it just never fit my style. With regards to the business move, I think 50 cent is making a smart choice. Partners tend to tear businesses apart. Too many chefs spoil the soup. I expect to see G-Unit pop up somewhere else in time.
