Does Rick Ross Want to Sign DMX to Maybach Music Group?

There’s no question that my favorite rap interview of all time came earlier this week. On Wednesday afternoon, I received a call from the Arizona Department of Corrections and sure enough, they patched me through to DMX. I honestly couldn’t believe it. I have to run but check out what X said about Rozay’s camp reaching out to him. I’m still laughing.

DMX: Yeah. Actually, Rick Ross’ peoples wrote me a letter while I was in here.

I’m thinking about it. It was a good feeling. I respect him as an artist, and I would like to work with him. But he got the whole Illuminati thing going on. I got fans who write me like ‘I’m glad you’re not a part of that.’ And I don’t know what it’s really about entirely. So it might be like a good thing.
That’s crazy man. Because I don’t know if you heard but right now Rick Ross is on fire. Maybach Music Group signed up a whole bunch of people. Wale, Pill–and they’re really doing it man. That would be a crazy power move if you guys joined up.
Yeah. I have respect for him and he expressed interest that he wanted to work with me while I was out. So I definitely want do a song with him, but I don’t know about the record label thing. I would have to see what his camp is like and feel people out. I’m not the average artist.

That would be interesting to say the least. X and miami dont have a good past history though, last time he was there he went on a oasis with scott stortch lol. This time I hope he gets to the music. either way as odd as it seems i think mmg would give him the fresh start he needs

I think Ross camp has a good energy/momentum at the moment that could help DMX ….He need to get his music and voice back out the streets and Airwave when he comes out…. and MMG label seems to be able to put there music out without the red tape that other Artist seem to be having to go through
P.S. Tired of these fool talking about Rick Ross Past… Who gives a s%#@ .. Well you tell ur favorite artist to just make good music and stop trying to portray themselves as mob or gangsta and be the “artist” that they are then you wont have the past coming up or illuminati or gay $#it. DMX and I go wayy back. I would see about joining something other than MMG. But, if homey need the money, well. The whole idea of these crew labels has never faired well. But, DMX can’t seem to get his internet on properly solo and attracting a new generation of fans seems to be his biggest challenge. Fans like me, who buy his album particularly because we know dude are here to stay. It’s pushing him into this new era of hip-hop. I say G-Unit.

I wouldn’t call MMG a crew label though. It looks like Ross is signing various rappers from all over as opposed to just his weed carriers (that would be CCC).

Set aside the fact that DMX on MMG doesn’t fit, I just wanna say that I’m not one that would get Michael Jackson fever if I met a star but if I got the opportunity to politic with Darkman X I would probably be hype as hell.
The unpredictability alone is worth the price of the collect call.

dmx is a special dude like his first album wenr 3 x plat at the time second album went 6 xplat at the time 3 rd album with 4 times plat an he was still in the streets barking lol crazy,other than dr dre or maybe i dont se anyone really helping him like he needs help with drugs an a new label i think rick ross wouldent really care bout him, liked to see eminem help x also,who knows lets se, he allways broght that crazy energy like no one can i wanna se him back fo sure

This would be DMX worst move ever IMO. second to his dope problem. I cant imagine one of my favorite artist wit such a lame. I’m a huge DMX fan and would be greatly disappointed in this $hit. Everyone screaming how the cop has momentum, how didnt his last album slef made brick at 17k?? He has momentum with the rest of them gay cats, Weesie Jefferson,Khaled and the we are the world records and the rest of the lames. I woldnt purchase a DMX MMG albm, Pardon MY Back SON!!

I’d just have a problem being under a dude that has not even come close to selling as many records as I have,,, to be a soldier to his general. That and then you got Ross on every single, every remix. I’ve always respected that DMX only does records with dudes he respects or fucks with. I’ve never pictured him as the industry dick rider jumping from ban wagon to ban wagon because its the new big thing. It would be sad to see him prostitute his art and his brand at this point in the game. With his catalog and his ability to perform the way he does, he could simply tour and make more than a solid living.
